Damn, maybe someone will get what Im talking about from the description.
Well, can you tell me an anime, not necessarily similar, but a short one, 24 eps seris etc, that involves comedy and adventures.

sounds like BECK, im a big fan too. the manga is pretty good and continues the story on for quite a bit after where the anime leaves it off too

^ yeah, it does sound like Beck.
Anyway, watched some trailers of anime that I was planning watch next season (for first few episodes, anyway):
Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan-- did not know that this is based off of a girl dating sims game. Then I looked at the character design and understood why.
Hero man-- looks like they decided to make the Michelin tire mascot into a mech. Seriously, though, I like the character design (not the mech).
Giant Killing-- The trailer looks good, though it's been a while since I've seen soccer/football related anime.
Arakawa Under the Bridge-- Very shaft-ish. Watching it for the ridiculous lulz, and the trailer doesn't change my expectation very much. It involved live action of a man dressed up as a kapa surfacing from the water. Yeah.
Senkou no Night Raid-- hmm, quite different from So-Ra-No-Wo-To. I guess the Anime no Chikara Project thing is a conglomerate of different parts of the industry? Good thing, I guess.
Saraiya Goyou-- I thought it was going to be like Samurai Champloo. From the trailer, I don't really what to make out of it.

Hey all
In my quest to watch as much Anime as possible and try to catch up on all the decent series...I just finished The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I was given all 28 episodes in chronological order...so that is how I ended up watching it. Love this anime ^_^...very fun to watch
+ Show Spoiler +Minus the endless 8....after the first 3 episodes I just zoomed through to the end to see if he actually stopped ><
Anyone have any news on the movie that was supposed to come out? I think it is called Disappearance or something like that?
Some things I am thinking about watching next: (let me know what you think)
Lucky Star School Rumble Heroic Age Clannad (The series...I have already seen the movie...is there anything to gain from watching the series or is it just the movie but drug out over 2 seasons?)
|
Well apparently it came out in Japan in February, but don't expect any fansubs until the DVD comes out.
Not sure when that is however...
|
I assumed the movie of clannad was absolutely awful. I feel sorry that you had to watch the movie first because it's a nice series. School Rumble and Lucky Star are both great. Lucky Star is probably something you should watch after watching a lot more anime though. =p

The series is a lot more enjoyable (it was for me, at least) when you don't really know what's going on.
The movie's out. Most of us are waiting for the dvd to be released so that it can get subbed. The film began screening in February, so maybe August? It's purely speculation at this point.
Edit: Oh, I see you added some more stuff. You won't enjoy Lucky Star until you've seen more anime since there are more than a few references to other shows. I hear the Clannad movie was terrible (90 minutes lol). Watch the KyoAni adaptation.

always watch the series before watching the movie imo :x

I have been told this before...I really wish I would have known not to watch the movie first . I think I will watch the series again anyways because it has been awhile since I have watched the movie. Maybe I can will myself to forget the big twist

Both seasons cover routes from the VN that you won't have seen before. The rest of After Story will probably be roughly the same as the movie, though with more character development just because the story's longer.
Uh, actually, I just skimmed over the movie summary. It misses the other twist, and possibly the saddest scene in the series. You're good to go.

Sweet
That gives me a good reason to get this series starts ASAP. Even though the damn movie was depressing enough...I guess it is worth going through that again to see some more content ^_^.

yeah, Dattebayo makes no sense whatsoever, but it is a sub, so suck it up imo

I watched a minute of the movie after watching the anime. Couldn't stand the animation. The anime version IS SO WELL DONE. Watch it or die.
Lucky Star, people have differing opinions on it. If you like a slow-paced seinfield on crack with a bunch of references to other anime/manga series, watch it.
School Rumble. So ****ing hilarious. WATCH IT.
Question. I only like watching anime series that are done, so anyone recommend any from this Winter or Fall?

Railgun is kinda good. I just finished myself. Not exactly revolutionary in any aspect, but it's respectable imo.
DtB s2 is worth a watch if you enjoyed DtB s1.
|
Oh man FMA 2 has been so good. It's so much darker and harsher than the original, which is awesome. I feel like each character is so much more developed, way more than just "I was at Ishbal" or something like that. Also, I thought Roy Mustang was awesome in the original, but + Show Spoiler +fucking wow it was so badass when he cauterized his own wound after being stabbed by Lust and just burned her to death. Bad ass motherfucker, damn.
The scoring is also pretty damn good, which is always a great bonus. The right music at the right time makes all the difference, imo.

Yeah, it was decent, though I prefer Index.
