Good way to pass the time when not playing SC2 =D Asa>Kaede all the way.
Also, the VN is better imo. Playing through that can get you filled in the gaps of the story, + Show Spoiler +and you can go down Kaede's path if you want.

yea... too bad it's monthly release
+ Show Spoiler [manga spoilers] +I thought everyone's penalties were fit... specially sensei's. But Roy's seemed wrong because he was forced to open it. It's just that the gate takes what you desire the most. But cool anyway. One of the best moments so far IMO was envy's death... I so want to see it on the anime
edit: my post was too off-topic, so I'm currently following kimi ni todoke, kobato, nodame finale, baka to test, hanamaru and katanagatari... but I'm more into the first 3.
dropped durarara. I might get back if anyone recommend it with good reasons.
recently watched the movie Summer Wars... good, nothing special IMO. Animation is good, and I don't remember if the soundtrack is good or not. This movie is for young teenagers. + Show Spoiler +that virtual world with its avatars is just lame imo

The only real gaps in the story that I couldnt figure out were more just curiousity than anything. Who is the crazy gross guy that is always watching the KKK and SSS and all those annoying groups? He is always like biting a napkin or something. He confused the hell out of me and really did not see the point of him lol.
Also, what ever happened to Asa's dad? It never explains that in the Anime (I admit I don't really read manga so maybe it is explained in there)
On a final note...the two kings are so great =D. I knew that any scene that started with them was going to be hilarious.

Disagree on that the VN (at least the original one) is better than the anime version. The story in the VN is very shallow and the characters don't get well developed stories and endings. However, it does contain some storyline (especially the other 4 heroine endings) that the anime version is missing.
Ironically, the best route in the VN is either Primura or Nerine's with Primura's route slightly better (totally my opinion). But Primura is underage dammit. The other 3 heroines' routes are just too underdevelop.

Jesus...I thought Shuffle! was fucking terrible. I know it is an exaggeration but I was first introduced to it through a song on DDR (You) and thought it was really cool and the girls looked cute and I thought I would take a look into it. This was before I knew what a harem or moe was.
When I watched the anime, I was so upset. I tried liking it with all of my heart but those panchira shots and the how underdeveloped the characters are is disgusting. And quotes like "Rin, can I fall in with you even more?"...that made me want to cut myself since the pain of the knife would be better than that poor acting and scriptwriting.
One thing I noticed about Shuffle! is that it seems to make pedophilia seem so innocent. I mean, you can get Primula and Lycoris in the games and they are the ones making the move on you and happily consenting to you. Way too pulp for me if you ask me. Games like that are for people who wish that girls can come to them as easily like they do in 2D world.
Oh yes, my favorite part of the series! There was the KKK part but the bath scene with the teacher and this other girl was so great! The conversation was about why all guys are so perverted, in a bath scene where I am guessing your dick is suppose to harden and increase 10 inches (100 micrometers for half of you reading this) The irony was too great. I also recall a scene which features a girl asking a teacher how to become prettier and she replied that guys who just like pretty girls are creepers. I hope those statements made the viewers feel better about themselves.

Well the age of consent in Japan is 14 if im not mistaken =\. But anyways, i agree as well. I hate anime like that and it is pretty disgusting

It is not a surprise that pedophilia seems to be more accepted in Japan with not only the age consent, but also formerly legal CP and Junior Idols...creepy.
Just as a trivial fact, a study of 500 Japanese men was taken and 33% of them said they are interested in lolitas.

Lolipedos, all of them!
I actually like the Visual novel over the anime because the visual quality is a lot better (obviously). I guess the VN doesn't really go over the confusing stuff, it just goes deeper into some character's stories, like Sia's alter personality.

But frankly, the harems seem somewhat demeaning to most women I know even though I am not a feminist myself. Giving them childish personalities and making them seem that they are in great need of the protagonist when she can actually take care of herself. Also, girls just seem to be cock hungry for a certain guy for no particular reason or for a really weird reason in Shuffle, "He played with me 10 years ago for 2 hours! I want to marry him!"

You are demanding for a bit too much out of the VN/eroge industry, most things usually aren't meant to impress you with how innovative it is or how well the characters were designed. They are just meant to give you a fun read. Especially with eroge, where some people's focus are on the h-scenes, adding in deeper character settings just makes it that much bigger a project and possibly less interesting to people. Not that there aren't some amazingly well written ones, but those are anything but the norm to expect. Shuffle is one of the prime examples of the mainstream ones that did amazingly well, how do you think it'll do on the categories you seem to place importance in?

Exactly lol. I like the people who get all high and mighty if you mention you watch this type of Anime. Maybe I just like it for its lightheartedness (well usually....Shuffle gets pretty srsbuisness later on).
Some people like it and some don't ^_^

Well, most of them follow that very standard design, what is it that they taught us in English class, introduction, rising action, climax, falling action and conclusion? Anyway, most follow that pretty rigidly, along with some other basic elements from elementary story writing. Conflict for the protagonist, overcoming the conflict for a stronger relationship between the heroine and protagonist, etc etc. Basically, quite formulaic, down to the serious business part. Kind of boring for me, the reader

Fun read...if you mean by shitty literature, then fine. I remember one line from the Welcome to the NHK! novel in which Satou said about VNs "How could people come up with such embarrassing lines?" What I conclude about most people who enjoy bishoujou games are perverts who say they are playing the game "Just for the articles."

However, I must say that Clannad was pretty good but some moments made me want to stab myself with a knife.

Fun read doesn't necessarily correspond with shitty literature. There are a lot of things fairly embarrassing, let's take the Gurren Lagann that people love so much and Kamina's signature line. If we are to just look at it without appreciation for the character in question, or understanding of what the work is like, aren't his line just full of stupid? But in the end, it was a fun anime that was far from a shitty work. You are entitled to your opinion as to why people read these things, but try not to count out the possibility that the articles in question can be good.

Well if you are looking for a fun read, take a look at the [url blocked] light novel. It will enlighten at the very least.
EDIT - File should be valid now.

It pretty much means "I don't like what you like so I am better than you" kinda attitude. Example being: "Anyone who likes X anime genre is Y" usually said in a demeaning way.

File looks damaged to me, I might go dig up the original version at some point (this isn't Japanese, presumably). For now though, more Bungaku Shoujo, then Usotsuki no Mii-kun to Kowareta Maa-chan per Southlight's recommendations~
