Hey guys I got a friend who's not seen many anime yet, but is looking for something to watch. He's watching/watched Bleach, One Piece, Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note and Ghost in the Shell. He says he likes OP and Bleach for the fights, but can't stand Naruto / Gintama / Ghost in the Shell. Typical "Death Note best anime EVAR" type of guy. Also doesn't like mechs too much, so he's not keen on seeing Code Geass and the like. Apparently he's also sensitive about plot structure? Plotholes can ruin an anime for him, he said.
I recommended Darker than Black and he finished it, but said he didn't like it too much. Not enough fighting and many plotholes. Gates being not explained, the last ep. not making any sense etc. I tried to fill him in as best I could, but it has been a long time since I watched DtB and don't remember all of it.
Can any of you guys recommend something for him? I'm running out of ideas.

Which FMA did he watch? If he hasn't watched both, he should. Also Black Lagoon. But the guy didn't like DtB so he clearly has a different taste than I do. Lol.

Mirai Nikki is a very good mystery/psychological like Death Note.

He watched the first series, and said he can't be arsed to watch the other FMA:BH, even if the story begins to differ from a certain point.
Yeah his tastes are so weird, he puts me off track so much with that =/

Or maybe other genres of animes as well, I started with Death Note, then Nana, then FMA, and got pissed off by Bleach mid S2. At first, you don't really know what you'll like, you just have to try it yourself. Now I know that I don't like shounen in general, with few exceptions.

He doesnt make any fucking sense Says he likes Bleach for the fights, not plot. Mirai Nikki might not be good if he doesn't like plot holes. Black Lagoon's pretty good for the fights, or more recently, Jormungand.
DtB was pretty wtf if he saw both seasons.

I'd say Trigun, but I recently watched it, and it's a bit dated if visuals/VAs matter a lot to him. Otherwise, it's a good choice. Monster is another one that a lot of new people watch.

I really liked DtB, though the second season was worse. People seem to hate s2 a lot but I still like it because lolhanakana.

Yea thats still prob your best bet, I doubt its plotholes that turn him off, more like what he thinks are plotholes which tends to be pretty subjective. Thats my experience anyway.
I know people who didnt like FMP because "nothing happens" and the bad guy keeps coming back. No helping that.
If I really had to (because I dont see why you would work so hard to get someone to watch stuff) I'd throw stuff like Busou Renkin, Kurokami, Gants Kekkaishi, Kenichi, Pandora Hearts, Tokyo Majin or maybe something like Trigun or Wolfs Rain. I dont know, Go with whatever and pray something sticks tbh.
Only a couple of those are really any good, but you never know.

Errrm..... I just watched the first episode of high school DxD, curious as to what it was as I had seen the name pop up so many times....
That shit is pr0n meng
On another note I've also watched rinne no lagrange season1 and I love eeeet!!! That show has everything, mechas, kawaii girls, boobs, awesome soundtracks, pink explosians, great ass, some sort of plot and some more great ass!!
+ Show Spoiler + btw do they ever really explain the whole politics situation? I don't get any of it, and all the names like de marite don't say anything to me. Was there really such a big plank before my head or did they just kinda skip over that. I still really like the show though.

Watch Dakara Boku H Dekinai, so much better than DxD. I had to drop DxD after a couple eps, it was just mortifyingly bad.
+ Show Spoiler [Binbougami ga! 05] +One thing bothered me about this ep: If her skirt fell off when she shrunk, doesnt that mean her panties would too? So she was basically going commando the entire episode. O_O

every season has at least one titty show you guys should be used to it by now

How can someone like any anime and not like GiTS... I don't even...
Well, there is Monster (pretty sure it was adapted as anime right?)

Wait, I just saw a Gantz live action film in a movie shop. That's a thing?
...is it worth watching?
|
You should stop recommending him stuff. He saw Death Note. No need to see more. He saw the best anime could offer.

he can thank me later via monetary exchanges
