If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

as recent discussion has touched upon VNs I figure I should list non text-intensive RPGs that are tons of fun

sengoku rance
kamidori

ive spent 100+ hours on each over multiple playthroughs, replay value extremely high

^Sengoku Rance pretty legit RPG action, lots of fun
P.S. Omachi & Natori so broken

@Maxie: I had Natsumi from Sharin no Kuni and Lilly from Katawa Shoujo on my list. Was considering Sara from Ever 17 as well

I... sort of like it. It's a bit boring at times, but otherwise good... I guess? Needs more mysteries that aren't boring. And it's lolKyoAni, so the animation is wonderful. I do wish they had done Little Busters instead, though.

Don't really know what to watch... so, please, do recommend me something based on your waifus. You've made yer lists, now spread the love. Lol.

Shaft announces some new Mahou Shoujo looking anime... would be funny if they trolled us with a reverse madoka (dark in beginning, fluffy later on), but who knows what it'll actually be. Sort of wish they just poured resources onto the monogatari series instead, haha. After reading Nekomonogatari, my urge for animated Kizumonogatari is through the roof.

I'll say this about G-Sen, in that it does have redeemable quality to it. Plus, the VN is fairly popular, and not EVERYONE here hates it (Ecael and Elem both like it). If its something you want to give a shot, might as well try it out.

lolwtf, obviously a setup chapter but I don't get how the NEET farting gives away anything O_o

Also know if there's a neat/clean installer for the Steins;gate VN that takes care of all the english patching?

I've been avoiding it for a while now, but I guess it doesnt hurt to give it a shot. I mean I survived Chinami in common route! Hoshizora was pretty good. There must be a reason its pretty highly rated on vndb

Got bored of G-Sen real quick despite the great start, so I decided to give Kara no Shoujo a go. So far it's really good. Really enjoy the investigative elements, so much in fact, that I decided to play fullscreen. Fatal mistake on my part cause shortly after + Show Spoiler +
I got to the part where the killer twists the neck art appears. I couldn't change the resolution back and was sporadically clicking around just to find out the menu buttons don't work either, I wanted to get THAT out of my face.
So the question is - should I keep playing it in Fullscreen or is there something further ahead that wouldn't be advisable to be seen in all its glory?

Surprisingly I've found myself enjoy a tons of series this season (after 1-2 per season for past 5-6 seasons).

So far I'm watching
Horizon
Hagure Yuusha
SAO
Nobuna
Moyashimon
Tari Tari
Campione
Binbougami
Dog days

And plan to watch Boku-H and Koichoco once they finish (though might start mid season if I'm bored)
I'm not an otaku, I'm a specialist.

Nobuna was better than I thought it would be. Hagure Yuusha and Campione are both pretty bad, imo. Don't bother with Boku-H, the uncensored boobs don't compensate enough. Not really liking Koichoco either.

Hagure Yuusha at least is following novel closely, Campione got butchered pretty bad + Show Spoiler +
though Athena <3

But this season I can't stop follow them for some reason.

Also, it seems a much bigger % of anime and generally good quality are based on LN as compared to game/manga now.

Different genre and approach, games tend to suffer a little from getting adapted because of multiple routes in nature, also the content themselves vary some. I think they are just using LNs more now because they are running out of easy to do galges and mangas.

I liked a certain aspect of the koisen game that likely won't get played up in anime. All that's left is to look at kouhai-chan's smile.

Hm, well, I have to admit I like that part of the show. Also, underwear stealing mid combat and meditating at the ceiling of the shower is amusing.

How amusing stuff like this ebbs and flows. I promise you 2 seasons on at the most you'll find it a waste of time. Stop and then maybe find it amusing a few seasons latter.

Small doses. Long time in between. Then it's amusing. Otherwise just stupid, I agree.

I've been listening to that one and the original and, well, singing along would be an overstatement... humming along? Or something. So yeah, you're not exactly alone.
