Ninja war with a lot of gore/fighting and a pretty simple, basic plot on the level of Romeo/Juliet. If you want action, go ahead, if you're looking for engaging plot look somewhere else.

Only thing I didn't like about the episode was when she was walking up to that girl that got torn in half. I was pretty pissed/confused at why all those BETA's didn't just jump her instantly. She was basically right next to them.
Other than that, the episode was enjoyable, especially for a prologue. Although, if it wasn't for Sent and others just constantly giving background info on it, I'm not sure how I would've felt after watching those two ep. + Show Spoiler +Why Yui didn't get ate, as requested on IRC: Alternative and Unlimited have several segments where they are like "sit your ass down, and I'm gonna lecture you about BETA and TSFs for half an hour". In which, they talk about things they know about BETA, their tactics, objectives, history, etc. In one such segment, they talk about how the BETA see humanity. Simply put, they don't see Humanity as living creatures.
Another segment, they talk about BETA tactics, specifically, where they give priority of attack. The BETA are somehow able to sense and prioritize attack on things with more advanced electronics/computers on board. Due to how the TSFs operate, this puts the TSF almost at the top of the eating list. Another thing they note, is they also target manned vehicles/weapons before unmanned ones.
Now, back to that scene. Rival-chan is in a TSF, which is already really high on the delicious food list for BETA. Rival-chan is technically still alive, making it a manned vehicle. TSF+Person inside makes for the most tasty BETA treat. They don't see Yui as alive, they just see Yui as a another rock moving around on the ground, that happens to not be inside a tasty TSF, like how Rival-chan is. They started noticing her when she opened fire on them, but before that, no reason to bother. And she did have a little bit of distance from her to the TSF. Not really alot for a Tank-class, but not right next to them either.
Final reason... From the director of ROSARIO + VAMPIRE and BABY PRINCESS 3D PARADISE...

I am interested in the directors... I initially tried following directors of anime, but other than Akira and Mononoke guys, directors seem very hard to follow, it's more about the studios. I found this very strange, and now it seems that there is some possibility of following directors afterall... The guy who directed Sword of the Stranger for instance, or to an even larger degree the director of Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal, deserves to be known imo, I would love to watch what these people have done, are there any good resources to tracking these people down, or do you have to remember the japanese symbols for their names and follow anime like a bloodhound?

Only directors I feel like following are Yoshiyuki Tomino, and Yasuhiro Imagawa. And if you just want to turn your brain off, Masami Obari.
MAL lists the staff of anime, and you can click on their names to see things they have worked on.

Aahh.... Can't find animes for tonight. Tried seraching myanimelist by tags again but didn't find anything. Anyone got something maybe?Imnotwatchingschooldays. Not interested in further evangelions or mecha animes.
heres mal, describing my tastes. http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Ryndika

I just finished watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood after the recommendations in this thread. I enjoyed it a lot but didn't think it was the greatest like some people.
+ Show Spoiler +I was kind of disappointed that Bradley and Ling never had a sword fight, The glimpse you see of it when they encounter each other for the first time seemed like it was going to be incredible but he had to run.
Anyway, I'm looking for more recommendations, I've seen and enjoyed are Evangelion, Death Note, Coboy Bebop.

+ Show Spoiler +Wrath and ling did fight: around 3: 20
I can recommend you code geass I guess, I think it appeals to kinda the same audience. It's mecha so not too sure you like that, I really enjoyed it though. ( though it's kind of a shut your brain off anime for most people)

You can still go to the site i linked, go the the sumary of an anime you particulary liked, then see suggestion for similar anime. pretty accurate suggestion there (if there is more than one vote of course)

Ghost in the Shell, Hellsing Ultimate, Baccano, Stein's Gate, Full Metal Panic, Black Lagoon, Trigun, Gungrave, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
I have to name Fate Zero but I'm not sure if people would consider watching it before Fate Stay Night weird even though it's a prequel for it, FSN is just so much worse.
And something different Spice&Wolf, Clannad.
Also try to give Berserk manga a go, you won't regret it.

The protag is a kid that wants to find and kill a guy that tempts people into accepting and incubating demons within themselves for the power of granting their deepest wish. Originally there was a reason like getting revenge for the kid's father (or was it mother? w/e) but that got side tracked quite a bit. Kid was taught by a powerful exorsit that left him to follow a mission, and the kid is trying to officially get into his mentor's organisation. He receives power-ups to battle the demons that are evolving like super saiyens. He meets friends, falls in love but the truth is he has a dark past that starts to slowly resurface.
Don't expect this to be dark/gloomy or serious. This is still shounen so "friendship saves the day" crap is there on an everyday basis. Nevertheless the battles are decent/good, the plot isn't bad (until recently), and the concept is likeable. Probably not a manga I'd recommend as 1st choice, but worth taking a look if you're looking for more battle shounen. For the record, I think Katekyo Hitman Reborn is better.
Meh, I'll pass on it based on this description.

+ Show Spoiler +I know they did fight but they didn't both fight with swords, you get a glimpse of lings fighting style in their first encounter but never really again. When he fights wrath he's already just fighting as greed.

Finally pulled myself together and finished Little Busters since I just had 2 weeks without internet.
Thanks for telling me to stick with it. I wasn't disappointed in the end.

Hey I see you're watching Great teacher onizuka, is it worth it to watch? I've seen the first few episodes and I'm not sure if it's really worth it, is there really a storyline? In the beginning it's just him being kinda perverted lol, it's not too bad but I couldnt watch 40+ eps of it.

I watched it. I enjoyed it, but watching 103 episodes only for the anime to end randomly and the manga continue on (it's still ongoing, and I watched the anime like 4 years ago) is really frustrating. Claymore and Spice and Wolf equally as awesome/infuriating. :|

Someone should get spazer to write a script that parses for Spice and Wolf and automatically relink the same posts we always link to.
