I wanted to download and play Soranica Ele, but there was no english patch that I could find. Does anyone know if there is a VN similar to it? And by "similar" I mean a recent VN with a similar plot and same looking girls. Im trying not to sound as shallow as possible, but ya, pretty much I just wanna play a game that has nice looking girls. + Show Spoiler +

Yesterday evening I saw episode 22 and something happened that I had never experienced in any show, anime, book, manga, movie or anything .... + Show Spoiler + So basically in episode 22, Euphie just created her new Japan Independent nation and invited all rebels including Zero to join her. Lelouch joins and after his talk with Euphie he looses control over his Geass and orders her to kill all japanese, leading to the most despicable bloodbath (as far as it being aimed toward unarmed civilians, and being so unexpected) I ever saw in an anime. Seeing her slowly walk that path I felt it like a treason from the author. I really felt bad inside like he shouldn't have done that. During 22 episode in the show, they grow this character as the only (until we meet Shneizer) decent princess from Britannia, the only loveable member of the royal family, one of the only characters of the show with enough humanity that you might hope for the show to get a nice happy ending (yes, I like nice happy endings). And out of the blue this is thrown at us. WHYYY???? Why so much hatred ??? I'm 23, but I still love to feel like a child and get excited like a kid about this kind of stuff, but man that broke my heart ... how could they do that ... ??? So just a few questions to whoever might know: - Was the anime supposed to be that way or is it that they shortened it and had to wrap things up quickly (even though the show is good, at several moments the transitions between scenes and events is quite sloppy ... like things were rushed)? - Am I the only one who felt that way watching this? Seriously I was crushed, for those of you who know the NBC show Community, my reaction face was very much like Troy's face after Abed's "I'm a cartoon" prank: ![]()

Still haven't watched the final 2 episodes cause I'm scared where it's going to go.

+ Show Spoiler + Only recently I found out about this new series created by the author of FMA Hiromu Arakawa. At first I thought it wouldn't be that good, but I was quickly proven wrong. The manga has this feeling of freshness I haven't felt in a long while and is a great change of pace from your typical high school dramas(despite the setting being an agricultural high school). The story flows nicely and is really informative on various agriculture related subjects. There are a lot of gags, great character designs(one of the teachers looks like Buddha, lol) and the art in general is great. And best of all - ARMSTRONG CAMEO, or rather - a PE teacher that looks like him. I would suggest it to anyone looking for a nice read.

Code Geass I'm gonna watch the remaining episodes tonight coz now that I've seen that, I really want an ending to that shit, may it be could or bad at this point doesn't even matter to me any more. I just want to see things end. I could PM you my impressions (without spoiling of course) after if you're interested (since we got the same opinion of the show I thought you might ![]() And I'm still wondering (if anyone got information on that plz share) if the end of the show was rushed. I can read on wikipedia that they initially wanted it to last 50 episodes but they only made 26. But did they knew from the beginning they'd only have 26 episode (in which case they just did a story that could fit in 26 episode) or did they learn it when they were halfway through it, forcing them to wrap things up quickly (which IMO, would explain this tremendously violent turn of events)?

Code Geass is 50 episodes. Season 1 is 25 episodes, and then R2 is another 25 episodes. So you are at the half way point. They changed writers and time-slot between Season 1 and R2, but was it rushed? Nah. But have fun with R2 if that upset you so much, lol. R2 makes it a point to try and go "WHAT A TWIST, I BET YOU DIDN'T EXPECT THAT" all the fucking time.

Like the only way she was even in that show is to get killed. She was so nice and got fucked over 100 times T_T

Would have watched it anyway but I would have never expected it to be what happens next in the story. Still I'm fine with the whole "getting my mind blown at the end of every episode" thing, but this was not only mind blowing, this was just wrong to me. You don't build up a character to be the most loveable thing in the show just to make him end like that. I'm saying that having in mind Japanese kids and especially little girls watching the show. Now I don't know much about their culture but I'm pretty sure in Japan just like anywhere else, if you build up a princess character that is all kindness and good-will, giving it such an atrocious end must have been really shocking for the kids (hell I'm 23 and I was shocked). It's like having Cinderella butcher all the mices and the fairy because halfway through the night the magic went out, wouldn't it be a horrible thing to show to children?

Even though Geass is Shounen, the first season had a late-time timeslot IIRC. Anyway, Japan is alot more used to violence in Anime than the West. You have anime like Gundam SEED where they animate people getting microwaved and exploding from the inside out, you have older Gundam shows where they kill off most of the cast and have the good wins only win a pyrrhic victory. You have stuff like Macross where the entire planet is virtually destroyed. edit: Yeah, Season 1 airred at like 1:30am.
