So, on a side note does anyone know where I can watch the very first gundam anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam on the internet? Many Gundam fans have told me to start off SEED or ACE but I just can't get my head around starting the on the like, 10th series. Almost missed this one. I like older anime as well. IDK about AGE being an intro to Gundam, despite its intention, but IMO SEED is a good starting point. I wrote a big blog on Gundam not too long ago (on where to start, what each Gundam is, etc etc), if you want to take a look. But starting with the original is fine as well, especially if you do like older anime. The original Gundam is old as hell, and you can really tell by looking at it lol. Starting with the original lets you get to Zeta Gundam faster too, so thats a big plus. Also, keep in mind that people tell you to start with SEED and AGE (and probably others) because they are Alternate Universe shows (AU), and are completely unrelated to other Gundams, so you don't need to have watched any of the previous ones to get those two shows. As for finding where to watch it online, I have no idea. I always torrent my stuff. After seeing a few scenes from Unicorn I honestly gave the first gundam a try but i was mind numbly bored. I couldn't even finish the first movie. I think ill start with seed -.-. Its disappointing because i really want to get into zeta but I cant bear the thought of watching 2 more movies. This anime feels to old even for me. I started with Gundam 00, and I thought it was really good. Also it's good if you're like me, and a sucker for high production value, since it's not as OLD as many of the other shows Unicorn 5 + Show Spoiler +Really confusing episode if you ask me... Maybe it's because it's been so long since episode 4? Federation, foundation whatever... By the end I was like get in the fucking suit Some decent action, but not as high-energy as usual, can't say I'm a fan of the sombre battle scenes... Hopefully they get back to some high-octane shouting and fancy flying next year *sigh* What was confusing about Episode 5...? If you have any specific questions, I can try to answer. Gundam AGE 34: + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/LQa9O.jpg) RETURN OF DA SUPA PILOTO (and now SUPA PIRATO)! Although unfortunately without SUPA PILOTO.mp3 Oh so he wasn't dead, I had a feeling but the story kept telling me otherwise. Pretty sure he's going to be the first to die, it just won't be SO SOON he has many more secrets to reveal as does Flit so they have some episodes left in them. Might even save their deaths all the way to the finale they seem to be TRYING to tide us over with a few " d'aww the Vagan has family members and they're dying and the 'villains' actually care."
So until the final trio of brothers are dead probably won't see any MC/SideChars kicking the bucket after that they're probably going to start taking down people from Adis' team (while making them a bit more memorable in the process so it has at least SOME impact, either that or sacrifice the WHOLE bisidian pirate crew but that seems silly because there doesn't seem to be anyone else who is going to be around for the final battle)

Maybe it just isn't your thing if you can't even get through the first movie, who knows. + Show Spoiler +I was just having a hard time following it, though I think it got alittle better as the episode went along. I couldn't remember where the characters were, who had captured Banagher, how Ple Twelve got made and when... Last thing I remembered she was in the hospital, and Links was convinced to keep fighting, all of a sudden they're fighting eachother. It's probably my own fault for not rewatching episode 4 in advance. In general I have no idea what Full Frontal is up to, other than being aware that the blond guy is supposed to represent some classic Gundam villian?, but I assume that's on purpose and to be revealed later.
It's just hard when half the plotlines revolve around a mystery people don't know what contains, and episodes are a year apart I think. Yeah, you forgot a ton of stuff that happened in Episode 4. The stuff you do remember of her happened in Episode 3 lol.
+ Show Spoiler +Episode 2 made the point that Full Frontal is considered the "Second Coming of Char". TL;DR Char was essentially a hero of the Spacenoids (people living in Space), who fought to try and free them from oppression by the Federation (which involves alot of history that I won't get into). So in general you can assume Full Frontal's goals are somewhat aimed at that. Whether or not Full Frontal really is Char or not is something that will probably be addressed later in the anime, along with what Laplace's Box really is.

Finished code geass yesterday and had a blast, I watched through both seasons in 2 days, maaan that was some epic stuff.
+ Show Spoiler +Lelouche is truly an hero!
Also I saw people didn't like season 2? Why is that? I thought it had some weird moments but still really good imo.

Although unfortunately without SUPA PILOTO.mp3 Oh so he wasn't dead, I had a feeling but the story kept telling me otherwise. + Show Spoiler [AGE] + I'm conflicted on how they handled the return of Asemu. On one hand, I'm glad he's not all "Vagan are not the enemy!" which I actually expected. But the fact that's he's just like oh Diva guys aren't wimps, guess my job here is done is...anticlimatic. Obviously, he'll do something important later but execution wise, it doesn't feel like that.
Also, this means he pretty much stole AGE2 (I assume his mobile suit is a pirate modified version of it) to go play pirates, effectively abandoning HanaKana, confirming that there is no romance here (ever since Yurin died ;; ) and females only exist to have babies. Nagi should comfort her imo.
I like this 3 generational thing though and how each generation is different. Flit = EXTERMINATE THEM ALL. THEY KILLED MY GIRLFRIEND MAKING ME MATE WITH A BAD CHARACTER. Asemu = against Vagan but still considers them human due to his relationship with Zeheart. Kio = being brainwashed by Flit (seriously, I laugh everytime he tells Kio they aren't human) atm but will probably end up being a bridge of peace between them with what's her name as his influence.

Ecael 2:40 am I barely remember z and zz
Southlight 2:40 am if you dunno what puru is then marida means nothing
Ecael 2:40 am you can guess lol
Southlight 2:40 am if you dunno what zabi is that stuff makes no sense like
Ecael 2:40 am you can still guess, obvious influential family
Southlight 2:40 am they dun explain a lot of background stuff but that's not enough
Ecael 2:40 am position made clear w/ unicorn
Southlight 2:40 am what differentiates her from rhidde? nothing
Ecael 2:41 am enough, space nazi and not space nazi
Southlight 2:41 am it just looks like a dumb power struggle between two shitty households that used to be proud etc. like romeo and juliet
Ecael 2:41 am except for all practical purposes
Southlight 2:41 am except with a third party
Ecael 2:41 am it isn't too far from that
Southlight 2:41 am but then you have weird espers and shit
Southlight 2:41 am like, there's a lot, in unicorn, esp in the anime
Ecael 2:41 am newtype magic is just magic
Southlight 2:41 am that isn't explained because it assumes you're familiar with the setting so if you come in without having watched anything except the alternate universe gundams and you honestly don't care, because you're a fringe anime fan anyways it'll make no real sense
Ecael 2:42 am ehhh I personally feel like the majority of it people can figure out on their own, at the very least my familiarity of UC is probably way lower than my AC AU I do want the AC turned on qq
Southlight 2:42 am lol
Ecael 2:43 am meh I feel like you won't get much past the surface but not to the extent that it is hard to follow because it honestly isn't like AC is deep enough to make it that hard to piece out on your own from fragmented information
Southlight 2:45 am well an obvious example they have never explained what a newtype is
Ecael 2:45 am wizards done
Southlight 2:45 am that tends to be critical to understand the relationship between unicorn and the rest of the war except you don't get that at all there is absolutely no connection made between newtypes and esp if you think about it and recall the lines where newtype is used it is simply used in reference to the "newtype destroyer" and how newtypes may or may not exist
Southlight 2:46 am logistically, someone unfamiliar with the work will assume that it is simply an ace-slayer fantastic! doesn't make any sense what's a psychoframe? you can figure it out a bit more easily
Ecael 2:46 am do you even need to know that
Southlight 2:47 am given that there is the word "psych" in it
Ecael 2:47 am beyond it being a type of technology
Southlight 2:47 am it's important given that significant chunks of 3 and 4 are based around unicorn reacting to emotions unfamiliarity with the concept of psychoframes and newtypes in general will lead to what the fuck is this brain powered?
Ecael 2:47 am lawlz
Southlight 2:47 am (or eva) anyways my point is that there's a lot being assumed by the storyboarding which is fine, its clearly made for fans anyways in terms of story
Southlight 2:48 am but for someone unfamiliar with the backstory for the setting it does no favors
Ecael 2:48 am I feel like you are talking about details that people have a slightly harder time to get but still can work backwards from the results to reach a reasonable conclusion
Southlight 2:48 am except you can't to this day if you have only watched unicorn haven't bothered googling anything and have no knowledge about the original gundam setting you will not know what a newtype is there is zero indication, at all! in fact the end of ep 5 where the cable glows green and shit? that just looks fucking dumb lol
Ecael 2:49 am magic!
Southlight 2:49 am that just looks like matrix 3
Ecael 2:49 am sure, why not
Southlight 2:49 am hence it's not as easy to "reverse engineer" stuff solely from unicorn so if someone's a fringe fan, for instance i can understand how it's hard to follow
Ecael 2:50 am I can't
Southlight 2:50 am now, if you're aware of a lot of this terminology and you simply feel the plot is too hard to understand suck my balls it's so dumbed down from the books

I'm with Ecael on this one, Unicorn doesn't seem too difficult to follow. Granted it's written for fans so you really won't have much of an idea about the backstory and whatnot if you have no idea of said backstory, but being able to figure out what newtypes are and generally what the plot is like shouldn't be too difficult. But it seems like Unicorn sucks for anybody just jumping into it, perhaps only if that person really wants to understand everything (in which case just jumping in won't be satisfactory ofc).
This is based on what friends [whose breaks have already begun and have decided to hop straight into Unicorn at my probably poorly-made rec based on what you guys have said] have said about Unicorn. I might give it a shot too asap

You need some UC background knowledge for Unicorn. Maybe you just need to read a wikipedia article, but if you are completely ignorant to the setting of Unicorn, you are gonna be confused. Whats a Newtype, what is Zeon, who is Char, why should I care? This stuff is pretty important. Of course, there are tons of cameo appearances and stuff, but that's just fanservice, and recognizing Kai and Beltorchika when they show up doesn't really impact your understanding of the story. But understanding the political situation, and what a newtype is, is pretty important IMO.

Like I said, I have not, so I'm reporting the sentiments of friends, and I'm of Ecael's opinion (that people in general shouldn't have to have UC knowledge to understand generally what's going on) based on what I've observed from several people who jumped straight into Unicorn. They were not confused when they watched it despite not having background knowledge of UC. Obviously they are not watching it up to your standards but they were not confused by the plot itself, partially because they just didn't care too much about all the complexities of the setting and some of the smaller details (which you consider import while they don't).

Sounds to me like you are talking out of your ass, since you haven't seen the show to judge for yourself. I've watched it and have my opinion, Ecael has watched it and has his opinion, those other dudes apparently have watched it and have their own opinion, but you haven't watched it, so there is no way you could have your own opinion. You haven't bothered to watch the show, so don't tell me what you do and don't need to know prior to watching it.

Do you guys just read one vn through then go to the next or do you juggle multiple vns? Depends on how much focus on story it is and the number of endings. A good mystery is supposed to be difficult to put away, so Kara no Shoujo went very fast to read through ( but I don't feel like going for additional endings now that everything is explained). Oh lawd how you are wrong. The other endings do not rely very much on the true end. They are quite interesting if you keep track of what you were reading before. Exception might be the bar girl end.

Spoiler question: + Show Spoiler +Is there a bad ending for Tojiko? That could be a bit interesting since her death had the most emotional impact in the vn (yeah I like genki girls...). Aside from that I don't really care that much for the characters in Innocent Grey's vns since they feel more like tools for moving the plot forward than characters I'm supposed to care much about. Then it becomes pretty reasonable to lose interest when all mysteries are solved.

Back to Chitanda... Ever noticed that she changes hairstyles on a regular basis? Virtually no other character does that.
