I'm kind of interested to find out what this means as a whole for SJ. Are they moving away from that type of series? Not to talk about it too in depth, but a lot of people are thinking that this is the last Naruto arc as well, as a lot of things are getting wrapped up. I don't keep up with One Piece, but how far could that be behind them if they both leave?
With series like Bakuman, a more story and dialogue driven series, or Gintama, which is more comedy driven, will we see a shift away from action driven series in the future? Not that they'll die out, but I wonder if the time of things like Bleach, DBZ, Naruto, etc is coming to a close.

if you look at "newer" SJ manga like Toriko and Beelzebub, i do not think they will change all that much, but keep a mixture of series.

Yea it doesnt mean anything, it just means its going to end soon. Thatsi it really not much to discuss. Also 1) if you dont keep up with One Piece you should and 2) One Piece sells more volumes than the next 2 or 3 combined alot of the time (sometimes even more like after the timeskip).
Its in a different league of popularity, so its very very far behind as far as a popularity based ending is concerned (although Bleach if it ends is probably going to finish because its just bad not because it doesnt make money, if its good enough to be in the top 10 its worth it for them to keep around from a numbers perspective.
They wont change anything because stuff like that sells well and they will always be on the lookout for the next one. SWJ has always had a decent mixture like Naphal said. No need to overthink it, not many people will join the discussion.

My apology but I wasnt really trying to discuss just about Bleach. I just wanted to discuss what this meant for Shounen jump in generals. Since the death of one of the big 3 seems pretty significant change. Such as, what is going to replace bleach? How rise an fall of a popular series diminishes over time. It marked a pretty big change in the shounen jump manga in general so I felt it was pretty significant topic in general. If it was discuss in Bleach forum topic, everyone will just talk and complain about how bad bleach or complain etc etc. They wouldnt touch about the broader perspective. I guess it was pretty late so I forgot to specify :/

Nope, doesn't mean shit since Bleach hasn't been popular for a long time. Maybe you could call it top 3 back in 2008 but it plummeted a long time ago. You can check shounen jump rankings for that :|

Bleach is been garbage that should have ended YEARS ago when it was still readable/watchable. Nice to see that its finally dying. One Piece is still great, extremely popular, and dwarfs its competition. It isn't going anywhere. IIRC Oda said that he was somewhere around the halfway point in One Piece, after the end of the last big arc, so we still have about 600 chapters/500 episodes of god-tier stuff for it.

Gundam 00 and Wing are good intros, along with Gundam SEED. SEED is personally my favorite, and IIRC it is Southlight's favorite as well.
Did you like the setting in 08th MS Team, like with the War against the Zeon? Universal Century is the main timeline in Gundam, and if you liked that, it would be well worth your time to try and work to watch Zeta Gundam.

Oda did say it was halfway but also that he expected to be finished by now. That means his amazing chapters are going half the speed he thought lol.
