Alright, here are some suggestions: I see MSG and Char's Counter Attack, but no Zeta Gundam. Zeta Gundam is considered to be the best Gundam show by many people, so that would be an obvious choice for you. G Gundam as well is another good choice, although it is very different from the other Gundam shows. Also recommend Fate/Zero. You have seen FSN, and Fate/Zero is a prequel, but like a million times better. Season 2 in april. Also recommend Ga Rei Zero. Although, this is on the Rec list, so you might have seen it, and just not included it or something. If you want some hotblooded stuff: Gurren Lagann, but honestly I expect that you have already seen that, considering its really really popular, and on the Rec list. Scryed is another good show, real enjoyable watch. New Getter Robo is very good, highly recommend that. Another show that isn't on your MAL, but you may have possibly watched it anyway since it is on the Rec Chart, is Legend of the Galactic Heroes. One of the best anime I've ever seen. If you haven't seen that, I highly recommend it. On January 28 2012 13:48 xrapture wrote:My tastes in anime are so narrow that it's hard as fuck to find something I enjoy. Like, Baccanno is so highly recommended and it was one of the worst anime's I've ever seen. Currently watching Monster and it's pretty good, like a 7/10, but the filler is really kind of waning on me. Here's my animelist, already been through the chart in the OP, and wondering if someone could help me out. http://myanimelist.net/animelist/sliverofdivinityI like philosophical/'realistic' anime. (Realistic meaning not Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, but actually believable characters.) How bout Evangelion? Fits the bill perfectly for "philosophical/'realistic' anime". I'm pretty vocal about personally hating that show, but sounds like it might be something you would like. I watched GA Rei Zero, I basically was like WTF the entire time. LOTGH is something I haven't watched mainly because I prefer to marathon series and from what I think it could be a long marathon. I've seen both Zeta and G gundam despite not being on that list, but I may watch it again. Thanks for the suggestions! LOGH is broken up into 4 different seasons, each like 25ish episodes. Maybe you could marathon a season, take a break, then the next later, etc etc.
edit: Also, since you have seen both Zeta and G Gundam, have you ever watched Turn A Gundam? Its another extremely good one, and it sounds like you have plenty of Gundam experience to watch it

This doesnt really help to much. And your ratings are a bit inconsistent with what your trying to say is "realistic/philosophical is a pretty poor way to explain it so they seem somewhat arbitrary. But if you mean no supernatural, magic, superpowers or what you would consider "ridiculous" and "idiotic" premises your pretty short on options and it seems your pretty fickle aswell (gungrave you like and Black Lagoon you dont). This is just of looking at those few ratings anyway.
Seeing as you liked KNGE, (ALOT apparantly), Im gona venture you like romance drama's/drama ? You can just look at the rec list for that everything up there is mostly better or as good. But you might want to check what they are about because some of them have the MC moving through a bunch of girls which isnt really like KNGE at all. Clannad I suppose is your best bet.

Watched almost all of it on Netflix. Bought Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and Berzerk at the mall.

You like philosophical/"realistic" anime and you liked KGNE that much? especially if you like "believable" characters?
holy shit LOL

There is a poll on thoranime currently which show they should release next, LOGH seems to be winning over soul eater and valkyria chronicles, since thor usually does highquality bluray releases we might be in for a treat =)

What about KGNE wasnt realistic, I havent watched it in a while so my memory is a little blurry, was it the fact that the male lead continued to be loyal to his crippled high school love? OR the fact that the blue haired chick agreed to leave him if she ever regained conciousness?

great new Nisemonogatari episode. Finally Shinobu is talking

When it comes to KGNE, I can't get that dog Mitsuki ending out of my head.

+ Show Spoiler [Nisemonogatari 04] +Ah a Shinobu episode. Nice one.
The fanservice was very strong with this one but I didnt mind it. We got to learn a lot about Shinobu and her fate with Koyomi. Very interesting to know that he doesnt mind living up to 500 years old to die with Shinobu. Either that or he has another plan in store that doesnt involve killing her.
And Hanekawa cut her hair... I dont like it at all =/ Ponyhair with glasses was so much better imo.

Not a big anime watcher, but just finished code geass, and damnnnnn that was some epic stuff. Someone maybe, hopefully, another anime they can recommend me?

if you dont mind reading and cba to wait for the movie you can read the LN for Koyomi Vamp up on Baka Tsuki, itll help with references like "Guillotine Cutter" that he made in episode 3.

Nisem + Show Spoiler +No wai! I think her new hair is wayyyyy better. Although her old hair wasnt bad, but I do miss the glasses though
Fairy Tale Logic
Hero dude: No matter how strong you are! As long as I have the power of friendship, that is all the power I need!!!
Evil dude: Haha fool, I have already broken 3 of your ribs, both of your legs, dislocated your shoulder, and ruptured your lungs. You stand no chance!
Hero dude: Ahhhh I dont care, my friend may not be here with me in person but they are here within my heart, I cant afford to lose to someone hurting me friends!
*After 2min of flash back and 1min of fighting*
Evil dude: I have broken 3 of your ribs, both your legs, dislocated your shoulder and ruptured your lungs. How are you still able to move....and I died...to one attack....impossible...
Hero dude: Idoit, nobody dies in fairy tale. Lets be friend afterwards kk?
Evil dude: I see....so this is the power of friendship. No wonder after I broke 3 of your ribs, both your legs, dislocated your shoulder and ruptured your lungs, you were still able to defeat me.
Hero dude: ya noob, we friends now kk?
Evil dude: kk

I keep telling you this is absolutely nothing. You have no idea how ridiculously powerful this power of friendship is going to get. + Show Spoiler +Enough to effectively reset the entire series. I still read it because well, *shrug*. And yes no one dies (and the kind of shit they will survive will make you roll your eyes.) but thats fine, no one dies in Medaka Box either iirc never hear anyone complain about that. Then again Kumagawa and to some extent Anshin-in carry it so thats your difference right there.
You dont have to kill people to make a good shounen manga, thats kinda how they work so the majority of the time its more a case of the bad guys even when winning never look like they are going to win which is my gripe with FT. Thats one of the reasons Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the better ones out there.

+ Show Spoiler +I really dont mind the fact that almost every guy they go against, Natsu them are immediately more powerful. Normally how it boils down to is, either the bad guys pull some cheap trick to gain an advantage: Natsu's motion sickness problem. Or they have a magic power that completely counters theirs, like Lucy's spirits being manipulated by the enemy caster.
But fights like Laxus' arc or Jellall's arc were done really well. Those arcs I enjoyed the most. In fact, my favorite arc had to be Laxus' one. That shit was amazing.
