Goddamn it. They set up an epic cliffhanger at the end of episode 11 and what do they do next episode? Absolutely nothing. That said, the rest of this episode was awesome. I almost died laughing when Nakameguro showed up. The serious part of the episode was pretty well done too, imo. All in all, it was a good end to the series. I'll definitely watch season 2 if they decide to come out with one. I've just started watching (and have subsequently caught up on) Toaru Kagaku no Railgun and am enjoying it immensely. The initial onslaught of yuri kinda caught me off guard though.

Mafuyu's confession essentially doesn't do anything And DtB subs...well you people might as well as wait, like Aers said, season 2 might as well as have not existed.

It's probably just because of other shows. Usually, when somebody makes a confession, something changes. Episode 11 also spent a really long time setting the stage for that confession. And so I expected something to happen between Sugisaki and Mafuyu even though I probably should have known better.

It is rather tragic, but the strong point about this anime was, again, the characters. I feel that it was very easy to empathize with the characters, and this show will undoubtedly leave you in tears by the end of the final episode. I just finished this. Some pacing troubles, yea. Animation nothing to write home about. But man my eyes were tearing up a few times during that final episode. A great break from the usual 'chargin mah lazers' or harem anime nowadays.

The OVA is, iirc, bridging the gap between season 1 and 2. I suppose it can provide some answers, but definitely not what actually happened in the end. I've watched a couple of animes she's shown me, and I've read some of that Manga stuff, but I don't even know why it's appealing in the first place. It makes my girlfriend sort of sad because I don't like it, but it just makes me more confused. To tell you the truth, the only good Anime that I've ever watched would be Spirited Away, and that was because it had such an amazing plot and story behind it that I just had to rank it among one of my favorite animated movies of all time. But here comes the problem then. Animes that I see seem to be laid with a lot of things like filler and unimportant repetitive notions that just drive me up a wall. It's really frustrating to be in the middle of a series and then have like....3 episodes of nothing but shenanigans happen when the series isn't about shenanigans. And then comes to the part where I don't see any logical progression or thought-provoking scenes in Anime because themes are really repetitive and characters just seem to be archetypes or one-dimensional. I'm not saying it's as bad as Twilight, because Spirited Away had some really dynamic characters, but it seems to me that a lot of Anime seems to have this trait...which generally turns me off to it. ^ Granted, I never watched EVERY Anime, but from what I have watched and from what I've heard about certain Animes, it only makes it more apparent to me. So my only question would be, what are some REALLY good Animes and what's the difference between just watching some live action stuff as opposed to watching Anime? If you had something that was touching and heartwarming and thought provoking (thought provoking being the most important one), that'd sort of be the genre I'd go for. Granted....Anime girls are pretty cute....but I wouldn't put that as the reason why I'd watch Anime. I really got turned off to Anime because of fangirls and the ones that I initially watched, but I'd really be open to any Anime that would be on par with something like Spirited Away (I'm actually sort of hoping to see it again right now....so I think I will) EDIT: And my 100th post is used on an Anime thread on the TL forums....*sigh* If you like Spirited Away im pretty sure you'll love all the other Studio Ghibli movies they made like, Princess Mononoke, Tales from Earthsea, or even Howls Moving Castle just to name a few. But like other people said, theres alot of different type of anime.. it seems you just need to find the genre your into. Most of the people on this thread ive noticed are into the whole comedy/school life/harem/drama genre's. Which some are good and ive seen quite a few myself(but not really my style) and im sure your girlfriend are into these more then anything else as well. Tough luck >< One thing id say i like anime more then actual movies is the stories. There's alot of series out there with dark and deep meanings of life and the nature's of mankind that i beleive cannot be depicted nearly as well in a actual movie. Even the ones that look innocent at first tend to turn out quite crazy and blows your mind away. Oh btw you should watch, "Here and There, Now and Then" with your girlfriend. A bit older series but one of my favorites of all time, and im pretty positive you will enjoy it ![]()

I find those shows to be much better than those ever so popular harem, school life anime.
