If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

Some of the winter series look good.

I've been told Hidamari Sketch will be good but it doesn't seem interesting to me.

If you enjoyed the shithole that is Toradora you will probably not enjoy it very much.

Last Kara no Kyoukai movie was pretty good. Considering I didn't really know what to expect, I thought it ended pretty well.

Starting up Toradora. I've gotten to episode 10 so far, I really like it. Ryuji started out as a boring character and Taiga as unlikable, but now I really like both characters.

Don't know exactly what I'll move on to next. Considering Kaze Koi, Speed Grapher, or rewatching Yu Yu Hakusho.

Kaze Koi is so disturbing...it's not one I'd personally recommend.

I hope I didn't just pique your curiosity instead of quashing it.

I spy with my little eyes: http://www.fatestaynight.jp/index.html

My initial reaction was: F*** Yeah. Then I realized it was Studio Deen. Then I realized it's only 90 minutes. Then I realized that it'll probably end up being battle scenes. Oh well

We need another full series from a Studio whose name does not start with D.

This news was out a while ago, but their site was recently updated, so just thought I'd bring that to the forefront.

Edit:

Don't listen to PH. Kaze Koi is really good. Once you get it, it's awesome.

I must say, Fate/Stay Night was pretty exciting but it could have been written better. The FSN movie is not going to that great. The only positive thing I can think of is that they will cut out all the unnecessary details Nasu included in all of his arcs.

I disagree, that works with Fate, that doesn't work with Heaven's Feel. Or UBW, I recall it was the former.

EDIT - Oh, it is UBW. Meh, even then I'd prefer them not cutting things. I love details though.

About rakkyo 7...well, like Southlight and I mentioned, no epilogue. Meh. Even if it is probably a wise decision.

Caught up on/watched Umineko over this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised, though it's better not to go into it with the mindset of "Higurashi on an island" - I had a bunch of WTF moments and it'd be more beneficial to go into it with an open mind.

Also, really liking this past few episodes of DtB. Can't wait for it to finish up (though I wish they'd decided on a longer season...)

I'll admit they handled it well, but once again, not one I'd recommend. It's just depressing.

Why is it disturbing?

Incest doesn't bother me in the least and that seems to be the only really controversial thing about it.

What happened in the epilogue? I thought the movie was ok for an ending, but it was a bit sentimental...

If you recall the start of chapter 2 where Kokutou meets Shiki in the snow, it is the second encounter after everything had finished. Nasu ties up a few more loose ends there that stemmed from the settings behind nasuverse, essentially. In terms of the tale of Shiki and Kokutou as we know them, it is pretty much pointless, but since they took the effort to show that scene in 2 and have Araya make an offhand comment about meeting Ryougi Shiki, I thought it might be nice to just include a bit of the conversation.

Then again, given chapter 7's treatment of Origin and how the whole series has went, they are really trying to underplay the more complicated settings in Nasu's work. To do the epilogue also creates a huge mess where a ton of those settings would need to be elaborated.

All I want now is for 未来福音 to see animation. Totally want to see an animated Mana.

About how it ended the series though, my personal take is that it did just fine. The movies cut out a lot of the things in the written work and ultimately created what I consider a romance story, and that sentimentality in 7 serves great for that purpose. While that's quite different from how the book feels, for the purpose of Rakkyo the theatrical work, I can't really complain.

Eh, because FSN was mentioned in this thread, I started playing the game again. Heaven's Feel is the best arc in my opinion followed by UBW but I forgot how much I hate Shuya. I loved Kotomine in the end of the HF arc because he sounded a little bit like a pro-life Republican.

Just finished:

Toradora!
Koi Koze

I enjoyed both. Toradora is generic but I still thought it was a cute story. Koi Koze was very sweet but the last episode was a tad bit depressing and I felt sorry for the couple.

I'm torrenting Speed Grapher and Gunslinger Girl right now. I'll probably move on to Mushishi and Gankutsuou next.

I'm cautiously optimistic for the FSN movie. It'll probably end up being mediocre, but I'll watch it anyways. Also: + Show Spoiler +
HAREM ENDING.

Actually, on second thought, they're probably gonna go with the true ending instead. Boo.

I finished Bakemonogatari. It was pretty good, even if it was 90% dialogue. They seemed to skimp a lot on the animation though. Is there a schedule they're following for the web episodes, or are they just coming out whenever?

Moving on to Kanon now. I can't get over how much Makoto looks like Asuka from Eva. =/
