I wanted to smack Shinn throughout most of it, but maybe that was just an accurate idea of a young person in war, like it was in Evangelion. G was fun. It was really more of a Shounen Gundam than anything else. The story often took a back seat to the action and tournament, so it ended up a bit weaker than the others. The characters were fun, if a bit stereotypical, and the action was top notch. Overall, it's great and fun, but if I'm watching for plot, it's not my first choice. When I first started reading that sentence, I was like "what, that isn't true at all", but then you started talking about Shinn. When you are talking about Gundam SEED, are you including Gundam SEED Destiny? For all intents and purposes they are separate shows, even if one is a sequel. What did you think of SEED by itself, not counting Destiny? | ||

The story of Gundam Wing is a conspiracy theorist's wet dream. THE ILLUMINATI ARE TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD OH MY GOD. That's what it is. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I just finished a rewatch of the show about 10 hours ago, and I asked myself "Oh God, Why." Aside from the cool suits in the show, the Aries, Virgo, Virgo 2 and Tallgeese, the show doesn't really even have good mecha porn. It's just... It's just so bad. Even G has a better story because it doesn't even take itself seriously. Wing takes itself so seriously, and the biggest thing that annoys me is the god damn gundam pilots. I mean they're possibly the most annoying and weakest main characters of any giant robot show I've ever seen, barring evangelion. And Zechs? fucking terrible char clone. And Trieze is weak too. This show is 49 episodes long and it doesn't explore the backstory of ANY of the characters. NONE OF THEM. None of them grow over the course of the show, none of them have any real kind of explained conviction or reason for their conviction, it's fucking terrible. AND THEY START OUT AND END AS GOD MODE PLOT ARMOR TO THE EXTREME PILOTS. It's so god damn annoying. 00 was better crap than this crap because at least the pilots grew in skill, or were defeated by lesser mobile suits with superior pilots. In this show it's just like DERP I PWNZ U WITH BIGGER STICK. For all of you with Gundam Wing nostalgia, I'm sorry you have nostalgia for a terrible show. | ||

As for the earlier discussion on bakemonogatari had romance, it explored a very narrow aspect of teenage courtship but that's about it, there's hardly any story telling in the romance aspect as a progression. It basically consists of girl A says: you are my bf, boy goes: I guess, Okay... of course, compare it to the average harem it has more romance but that means little given average harem has 0 romance. | ||
