I lined up god knows how many hours for the related goods at the typemoon booth for the items LAST winter when it was "almost" out at Comiket. Hell, even the theme song is a tear old st this point.

Uhhh, it was the conceptual phase, there is no indication that it would have worked out even close to how it originally turned out. You say Saber only existed as a girl for porn, when there still would have been porn regardless. You then go and just assume that everything would have worked out exactly the same other than Saber/Shirou's genders being reversed, which sounds really stupid. You guys keep insisting that the only possible reason that Saber is a girl is just the sex appeal, which Saber doesn't really have alot of anyway. It may have been a reason, but to insist that there aren't any others at all is just dumb.

Not all VNs are eroges. Eroge implies that it features sex/porn, and plenty don't have it.

TL;DR version, Sunrise's natural element is sci-fi, and they have done alot of good scifi shows.
Notice how most of those iconic titles are either purely mecha and not sic fi grounded in reality (yuusha series) or almost 10 years old (scryed, gaogaigar) or well over 10 years old (escaflownev, zeta, bebop, outlaw star etc.
The only shows that are modern and of relevance for how far sunrise has fallen are geass, gundam 00 (what the fuck was that shit), sora wo kakeru shoujo, gundam AC etc. All of these have the distinction of being pretty shit. Yea sunrise makes sci-fi but none of their modern stuff is any good.
Take production IG instead. In modern times theyve got GITS, Eden of the east, Time of Eve, etc. Stuff that's a lot better and more firmly grounded in reality. So pardon me when I put IG on the scifi pedestal over sunrise

Both Gundam 00 and Geass were fucked by the decision to split them in half. Both of the first seasons were pretty good, especially Gundam 00's first season. Gundam Unicorn is godlike. Sunrise is a very big company, and they don't always have the same staff working on every show. Like for Geass, didn't the writer or director change from Season 1 to Season 2? If modern Sunrise has a problem, its that you never no which Sunrise you are going to be getting. Also, Mecha is scifi, so IDK why you would make a distinction. Why does Scifi have to be "grounded in reality"? Scifi stands for Science Fiction, and every single show I mentioned satisfies the conditions to be Science Fiction.

It really isn't that bad & the premise is kind of neat. I haven't seen the movies though. The opening is kind of catchy.

Looks like I just need to get through the week until Shana and the next FZ are out.
