Key used to do stuff like that though~
Though honestly the idea of having bad ends for the sake of having bad ends is pretty stupid. The thematic approach for Clannad and LB was infinitely better than Air and Kanon, and RW is an interesting direction for Key in the future. I look forward to what else their current set of writers would come up with.
I liked myself some Jun Maeda though.....
and on RW, SAKUYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
and <3 Lucia route, Shizuru is cute
Shizuru #1, :3 and sanma ftw. Also Moon Route was a beautiful piece of writing, particularly that beginning.

Eh the heterochromia was an obvious moe factor, not that I care because Shizuru was freaking awesome. Remember, she gave you sanma when you wanted it. Also #1 uniform, also #1 uzi, also #1 knives, also #1...oh just freaking #1 in general.
The way Moon Route was constructed was nice, but that beginning part was really excellent writing, that ethereal feel to the writing and atmosphere was classical Key. Honestly everything up to that point has been slightly off, you can really feel who the scenario's writers were, but that beginning to Moon Route was just. Damn. Kind of like the vindication that you feel from After Story and Refrain, amazing stuff.

Aeres just finished Clannad After Story. I understand but if you truely stopped at + Show Spoiler +
where nagisa died,
then you are missing out on the best character that didnt get introduced until her death. Also the ending is enough to warm up your heart and explains why thing were like that they were. It as my gateway anime into excepting drama/love anime which I usually detested.

I just rewatched it last week and still is not able to hold back these manly tears at the end due to feeling over 10 emotion at once. Fucking After Story so boss.

I've literally got nothing to do right now as I wait for the school year to start. Got no books to read, no games to play, and all that jazz. So, what I'm looking for is an anime series or two to watch. Unfortunately for you guys, I am not initiated in anime, so you gotta help me out.
I've seen Clannad and Kanon 2006, and the "slice of life / romance" genre appeals to me. Something along the lines of either of those would be great. Humor is a plus, but not entirely necessary, but it has to be able to warm my heart / make me shed man-tears. That's not too difficult, believe it or not. >_>
So, got any ideas?
Oh, and Moonbear isn't allowed to make suggestions, since he's a total oujo fanatic (or however the fuck you spell that).

can anyone recommend a bad-ass themed anime. like gurren lagann.. or cow boy bebop. basically theres some bad ass people in there.
hi thanks for the suggestions
but i am looking for really bad-ass animes. like i wanna -ripe off my shirt and thrust my pelvis into the air and yell my lungs out- kind of bad ass. Definitely action orientated.
I guess you just ignored someone giving you a perfectly reasonable post or something.

Black Lagoon might also be up your alley.
You said you wanted an anime like Gurren Lagann, which is a good show. Gurren Lagann borrowed HEAVILY from Getter Robo and Gunbuster (which Latham didn't recommend, but you still should check out). So if you liked TTGL, those two should be right up your alley. Its a fact that the maker of TTGL was a huge Getter Robo fan.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7JqnxAoh-E
Also, if you watch Gunbuster, Gunbuster has a sequel called Diebuster, which is VERY Gurren Lagann-ish. Gunbuster is very 80s, but Diebuster is from the same era as TTGL, so you would be right at home with it.
Additionally, GaoGaiGar is good. GaoGaiGar itself, is a kinda long series (its like 70 eps or something, IIRC), and its really monster of the weekish. However, its pretty badass, its just not everyone's cup of tea. GGG's "problem" was that the first 20 or so episodes, the show as aimed at children. And then they switched target audiences a bit later, and things started to get alot better. This chart pretty much sums up GGG's direction over the course of the show. Its actually really fucking accurate.
GaoGaiGar Final is a sequel to the series. Its about 7 or 8 eps IIRC, but GGGF is fucking awesome. Its so good. In my humble opinion, its alot better than TTGL, but thats up for you to decide, if you are able to get to Final. I can understand people being turned off by the format of the original series, but Final is just so good.
I used to just lurk the anime discussion thread, but I'm starting to want to become an active member on TL. As you can see by my number of posts, I'm a total noob. I have a question that might be difficult to answer: Could someone please give me a list of anime that I should definitely watch to keep up with this thread? Or anime that someone like me should've already watched? I'm open to any genre.
