Chain rule is: first part times derivative of second part + derivative of first part times second part so in this case: x(3^x)(ln(3) + 3^x, which you can simplify to (xln(3)+1)(3^x). when your function is even more retarded, like when its (10x+x^2)^3, you can use product rule. But instead we're going to use something called being gay with math. That's where we pretend that an expression is something else. So we pretend that 10x+x^2 is actually just x. The derivative of x^3 is 3x^2. Easy. We now need to put that back in, and we need to remember that we need to derive the inside too. The derivative of that expression is 2x+10. Basically product rule, and it ends up being 3(10x+x^2)^2 times (2x+10), or derivative of the outside portion times the derivative of the inside. congrats i just taught you ab calc | ||

You can do BC without AB but you need to understand a few key fundamental in AB. Although BC is more abstract than AB since AB is just alot of repetitive work. Like someone posted above, those are the few things you need to know and you can be pretty solid in BC. Such as product rule and chain rule etc etc also their alot of trig function derivitive and intergral you need to remember as well. | ||
