Stereotypes aside, if you plan on a career in finance/science/tech/engineering/etc. doing harder math is so much more worth it. If you're efficient, you should still have time for anime+manga. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + I have a D- in this class right now after 96%+ in Honors Precalc. Shit was easy, but now my BC teacher also teaches AB, and most kids at my school do AB before BC because we're stupid or something--I think the teacher expects us to have prior knowledge of AB before we walk in. Anyway, It's the first day of class (today) and she gives us a quiz on derivatives/continuity/limits. I've never done any of this bullcrap and end up getting a score of 6/10 (fucking 23/37 problems). We touched briefly on limits in precalc but wtf...the class is supposed to be a joke, and I have had lots of mediocre-performing friends say that one definitely should skip AB to do BC, and that both really aren't very hard, but I'm sitting here with a fucking 6/10 right now holy shit...I've never gotten close to this kind of score omfg...I'm legitimately thinking of dropping all anime/manga and even perming myself from TL or something fuck. This probably belongs in the letting out steam thread and has overkill profanity, but I just don't fucking get why she expects us to know AB already...at this rate I won't have time to do anything because I will have to learn calculus instantly fuck. Also I work sort of slowly and we have extremely tight time limits (edit: for tests) which probably just says something about my idiocy and being a dumb/slowass. I'm a damned disgrace since calculus is supposed to be easy. My dream field of study is electrical engineering, or at the very least, engineering, and this kind of bullshit will not fly anywhere fml | ||

2 years later I find out all the calc ive done for 6-7 years had popped out of my head and I had to relearn it for my higher level electives while taking them it was quite annoying, I ended up doing alot more work than I needed to.. So yeah take calc and do well .. the learning curve from what I remember kids in freshmen year of college taking precalc to actual calc seems to be a bit steeper here in the US which is a bit silly imo but thats how it is.. | ||
