Who was worse, the Earth Federation Government or the Zeon? I think the answer is perfectly clear, but Gecko has been adamant on IRC that the Zeon was the lesser of 2 evils. So lets just look at some facts here. In the One Year War, the Zeon massacred roughly 1/3 of humanity in a single weak, with liberal use of poison gas and nuclear weapons. They dropped a colony on the earth, and wiped Sydney, Australia of the map. In the One Year War, the Earth Federation never commited crimes anywhere near the level of what the Zeon did, and even tried their hardest to prevent some of the Zeon's action (fighting massive battles against the Zeon in early OYW when the Zeon are busy gassing/nuking everything, attempting to stop the colony drop on earth, and only succeeding in throwing the Zeon's target off course). In 0083, + Show Spoiler + Zeon remnants again drop a colony on the Earth, this time in North America. And again, the Earth Federation fought hard to try and prevent the colony drop. In Zeta Gundam, + Show Spoiler + the Titans had risen to power within the Earth Federation, and commited alot of Zeon-like acts, such as gassing a few colonies and such. However, the Titans were defeated before they were able to even approach the level of things that the Zeon did in the OYW. In Zeta and Double Zeta Gundam, + Show Spoiler [ZZ spoilers, ferrose] + the Zeon remnants in Axis got back to their old ways. From massacring entire towns on Earth, to dropping a colony on Dublin to destroy it, the Zeon were back to their mass murdering ways. However, here is where I start to lol@Gecko. He claims Zeon dropping a colony on Dublin, killing its population, is an example of the Earth Federation being WORSE than the Zeon. In this situation, the corrupt leaders of the Federation just didn't give a shit, and order an evacuation, etc etc. They got their asses out of their, and didn't try to save the people of Dublin. Could they have saved people? Yeah. Was it a really dick move on their part? Of course. Does that make them worse than the people who actually massacred the people of Dublin? You would have to be mentally retarded to think so. In Char's Counterattack, + Show Spoiler + the Federation Government was just full of spineless wimps, who would just let Char trick them all day long while he continuously dropped giant rocks on Earth, in an attempt to make the Earth completely uninhabitable. Gecko claims that both CCA and ZZ are where the Federation show that they are worse than the Zeon. How the fuck does the Federation Government being full of greedy dumbasses make them worse than a guy who is literally trying to destroy the earth? Not to mention, that during CCA, Londo Bell was ordered by the Earth Government to stop Char, so lol. Gecko claims that its because of his "Chinese upbringing" that he sees the Federation as worse. But that just sounds dumb to me. I'm not the only one here who thinks that people who regularly engage in genocide are worse than a corrupt democracy, am I? | ||

If greatness demands sacrifice, so be it. If you think like that then I guess, yes, the federation is worse. They just sit on their pretty asses and do nothing while the world around them rots, mired in the corrupt status quo. At least Zeon is trying to achieve something? I donno. inb4nazi. | ||

So inaction at 1 (maybe 2) instances makes them worse than people who are actually commiting the murder of innocents on a massive scale? What sort of greatness demands the sacrifice of countless innocent civilians? I gave up on that manga after chapter 100 but as far as i can remember it is kind of like a circle of annoyance. Like every character gets his chapters to be annoying and then it switches to another one. I meant it more in the way of " it will only get more rage inducing" ^^ I mean I like the art of Seo Koji but that guy just sucks at the stories when they get longer. Like compare KMIM to the one shot I posted before and it's like a different person wrote the story. | ||

There are only so many hardships you can throw in before it becomes ridiculous. Of course it's even more of a problem when you do like Seo Koji and add a new hardship every other chapter for maximum drama. Even in that one shot it felt like he tried to do too much with the pages he had available. Not that I've read alot of manga but it seems like the safest bet for romance is 30-50 chapter long ones that are already finished. | ||
