Clannad just has stronger themes for you to think about than Kanon. That's why Little Busters is so good for me, need Rin to be animated. | ||

Then of course there's things like After Story Episode 18, which is...intense, to say the least. | ||

I think I got hit too hard by that first bit. As a series, I liked Kanon more - for any single moment, Fuko's arc was just too much haha. I personally didn't like After Story as much as Clannad either... maybe I should rewatch it and I'd think differently ._. Watching it weekly might have lost some (a lot) of the impact. That apart, CLAMP shouldn't disappoint, besides, we have Railgun, which will have awesome since by default Misaka is better than everyone else until Itsuwa, who won't show up till like season 3 at the pace they are going (there is imouto too, but she is Misaka anyway), so anything focusing on her is automatically excellent. They should just recast Index as a walking food commentator (why not, perfect recall), that ought to make her a better character :p EDIT - What's with people getting hit by Fuuko's arc? Could be just me, but Fuuko is too much of a comical character for her arc to be anything else other than "lol, there she is again". Afterstory was infinitely more depressing than Fuuko's story in the finality of the events there + Show Spoiler + barring the miracles To me, the Key games have been steadily going down in terms of how depressing and emotional they are. Well, LB is kind of hitting that back up (probably just a personal thing with some of the themes of the routes) and Rewrite can be a game solely about making you feel miserable, maybe. EDIT 2 - oh gosh Bakemonogatari so good. Been waiting for this episode forever. | ||

And I don't think that Fuuko's arc was all that sad comparing it to the rest of the series. Although, + Show Spoiler + that may in part have been caused by After Story. | ||

Kanon is just a nice watch. A slew of very likable characters again with their own little stories. I enjoyed both immensely. Probably my top 2 animes. | ||
