I think there is a Starship Troopers anime, but I haven't watched it, nor know how good it is.
But yeah, your only other options for humans vs alien bugs is something like Gunbuster or Getter Robo, which are shows really different from what you are wanting. I felt the pain you are going through too, when I had my MuvLuv Alternative Withdrawl after beating it.

The starship troopers anime was one made in the US called roughnecks: starship troopers chronicles. You can find some episodes of it on youtube. Although some episodes have been taken down.
