Just finished No. 6 episode 2. Not that much yaoi.....this time.
+ Show Spoiler [No.6] +lol, she just asks for sex like that? So, does Shion reject her request for sex because he thinks she's just a friend, or is it because it's yaoi?? hehe And Rat still looks like a girl, kind of. I guess Shion gets infected by that bug thing, get's white hair. Next episode has them naked in a bath, I'm guessing?

Just wondering, if I were to watch the Gundam series...
Which ones are best worth watching, since I know there's a LOT of places to start/watch.

btw. Looks like Roberta's Blood Trail ep.5 finally got subbed. BL5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not subbed by Tastymelon but should be good enough.
^ Zerggetsnofood: I liked the main UC ones and seed.
There are different opinions out there about how one should watch the UC series(including/excluding sidestories/movies) and which ones are good.

Which ones are best worth watching, since I know there's a LOT of places to start/watch. If you are just starting out on Gundam shows, these are good places to start: Gundam SEED: Its one of my favorites, and most acknowledge its at least a decent show (it gets alot of flak due to its sequel). Gundam SEED was meant to be a reboot of the franchise for a new generation. Its very similar to the original in many aspects, but with alot more focus on relationships and extra important characters. Gundam Wing: Gundam Wing was the first Gundam show for many people, since it was the first to be broadcast in America (was even more popular than DBZ for a bit). Its good for beginners. Its not one of the best Gundam shows, but it isn't terrible. Gundam 08th MS Team: Another good starting place. Technically this is a side story to the original Gundam, but watching that one isn't necessary to enjoy this. Gundam 08th MS Team focus more on the grunts, lots of team work, jungle warfare, and is one of the most realistic Gundam shows. Its really good, and you should check it out. Gundam 00: This feels like another Gundam Wing. The first season of it was pretty good, its just the second season it starts sucking. Regardless, its very recent, and a good starting place. Gundam Trilogy: The Gundam Trilogy is where it all began, and is good in its own right. It IS old, though. However, this is the start of the "main" Gundam storyline. G Gundam: G Gundam is like Gundam Olympic Professional Wrestling with Robots (its ridiculous, fun, and good).
Any of the above are good starting places, some are better than others, or might suit your taste more than others. You can look up their plot summaries on MAL to see which ones seem the most interesting. Some of the best Gundam shows require having seen the original, in order to fully enjoy. For example, Zeta Gundam, which is considered like the Holy Grail of Gundam by some, is a direct sequel to the original, so watching the Gundam Trilogy first would be required. Turn A Gundam was meant to be the "last" or "final" Gundam, so watching a hand full of previous Gundams before that is highly suggested.
One suggestion that might be specific for you, though, is Gundam X. Gundam X is a good show, and I liked it (although its not without its flaws). Its very similar stylistically to Eureka 7. Like for example, Renton x Eureka borrows alot from Garrod x Tiffa.

Very unlikely. A 110 episode OVA series + 52 additional OVAs for the OVA series? The producers would probably be called insane. And yet they managed to pull this off way back when. I don't know how you arrived at the conclusion that present day anime has better writing than older series when both eras are swimming in a metric fuckton of bad titles.
Not only did they have 162 eps of OVAs, but they also had two full-length feature films!

Kampfer is pretty...kampy. But so far I love it.
Edit @ ZNF: You should watch Gundam 0079 (aka original Gundam/Mobile Suit Gundam/Gundam Trilogy as Sent said). It's three movies from like the early 80s, and it's kinda like the Star Wars of Japan and/or anime. It's definitely old and the animation is pretty bad, but it's totally worth it if you can get past the age.

i have watched the 110 episodes, i am_not_interested in the childhood/teenage years of the characters, is there anything i should check out from the movies / additional ovas? most if not all are prequels i heard...

Just wait until you see all the rampant fanservice in the OVAs. Almost awkward to watch.

They are all prequels, but they don't really deal with the characters' childhood. It's more focused on the events that transpired during Reinhard's and Kircheis' early years in the military. The quality of the OVAs varies somewhat between arcs, but I'd recommend watching all of them anyways. There's some really good stuff in there.
As for the movies, My Conquest is the Sea of Stars is about Reinhard's first encounter with Yang. Worth watching. Overture to a New War is a retelling of the Battle of Astarte. Although its stuff you've already seen in the series, there are a few extra scenes and it fleshes out the characters nicely, so arguably its worth it if you have time. Golden Wings is just bad.

Hi guys.
I'm looking forward to looking a recent anime, but have no clue what has been made recently AND is decent. Here is my AnimeList page http://myanimelist.net/animelist/mr_tolkien , as you can see I've liked a lot of different animes, from Cowboy Bebop to NHK Ni Youkoso through School Rumble, and generally just like well done animes.
Any idea on what I should watch ? ^^

Start with Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex, both seasons, and Hellsing Ultimate OVAs. Ga-Rei Zero, TTGL and Eureka Seven are all fine choices too. Baccano! and Darker Than Black further down.
I skimmed through your dropped and on hold list quickly, so I hope there aren't any conflicts.
Why you drop Samurai 7?ლ(ಠ益ಠლ
