Same overall setting, but different parts of the universe/separated by several decades in some instances. SDF Macross, Plus, and Frontier are my favorite of them. Macross: Do You Remember Love is basically the movie compilation of SDF Macross with some changes, if you want to go that route (the movie itself is good too). If you want to start anywhere, I'd say the best place to start would be SDF Macross, and then after that, anywhere you want. I'm a huge Robotech fanboy, as its probably my all time favorite anime. However, if you want to get into Macross, watching Robotech would probably confuse you. I can go into more detail if you want, but although Robotech and Macross both are almost the same thing for a while, after the actual SDF Macross part in both is over, the plot and setting branch out in very different paths. | ||
