They just made a really bad decision, probably decided that if they got away with airing order from season 1 they can get away with anything.
Patience, patience. I think it's worse that every episode is fully and thoroughly produced. That means they think this is a good idea...

I mean sure fine, if they have more episodes to make up for this stuff I'll be less peeved, but srsly. It's really disappointing to wait what, 2 years, just to see the same episode like 4 times. If they make up for the episode numbers lost then you have no reason to be annoyed at all, less peeved isn't enough. You can complain about a lack of content, but as we see with endless eight, they are only repeating the happenings of the episode. Other factors like voice acting and animation suggest that they are inserting new things instead of reusing the old, the kind of thing one would do if the only goal is to skimp on work. So really the only point you can complain about the series itself would be looking back at the conclusion of this season and evaluate it as a whole. You can certainly complain about how they implemented Endless Eight now, but I don't feel like it gives us any indication on the value of the whole affair. What? I can be as annoyed as I want about endless eight. I'll still be annoyed at it (less so) even if they make up episodes. I don't really understand your point, especially when you tell me I have no reason to be annoyed if they did make up the episodes (new episodes won't suddenly make Endless Eight better). I don't want to see the same thing over and over again (no I don't give a crap that they're redrawing/animating/w.e). Endless Eight alone isn't Haruhi, so if you think I'm complaining about Haruhi then it's not that. I'm complaining about Endless Eight + Kyoani being trolls.

Though I suppose that puts our complaints to be about different things rather.

The problem with Endless Eight is that the iterations don't add anything new to the overall plot. There needs to be some sort of justification to go above and beyond the point of where the light novel ended. As of now, I don't see that. It's constantly deja vu and I need to do something to rectify this situation, but there's no progress. It's nothing more than just red herrings and costume changes of the same tired two weeks.

Haruhi is fine, the other episodes were fine, it's just the dragging out of Endless Eight that annoys me.

Yeah, 8 episodes really hurt. I can understand 2, 4, and maybe even 6, but 8, lol. It has interesting intentions, but the execution really overestimated how much they can get away with.

Three would of probably been the magic number. One being the the start, the second being sort of a WTF moment to fans and the third finishing things off.

Fairy Tail and Darker than Black sequel, nice.
Also, has anyone else seen Kara no Kyoukai movie 6, yet?

So I've cut down on the shows I'm watching this season:
When the Seagulls Cry Canaan Needless Kanamemo Bakemonogatari Sora no ManiMani
These are the shows worth watching this season. The only show I kind of regret stopping, is Tokyo Magnitude. It's something different for sure and it's a nice watch but it's just a single mom stuck with 2 kids she doesn't know in a disaster with the occasional random acts of horror that happen. Really fucking depressing.

Well, on the bright side, maybe with so much of season 2 having been allocated to this nonsense, there'll be a season 3 in another five years!

Has anyone mentioned Fairy Tail yet? If no one has, I'm surprised!
That'll be the anime I'm anticipating the most for the Fall season.
I can't wait ^^

Yet another asking for recommendations post...
But how about some good anime movies? I just realized that some of the best anime I've ever seen were all movies, even though I haven't seen many of them.
I've seen Akira, the Patlabor movies, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, of course the Ghibli movies and shit, and I just saw The Sky Crawlers. I'm DL'ing the original GitS movies (and 2.0).

I don't remember any that really jump out that aren't those titles Except The End of Evangelion, but you've probably seen that too. Other titles... Grave of the Fireflies and Origin: Spirits of the Past. For other cyberpunks, you need to watch Spriggan and Metropolis.

I watched and enjoyed most of what you mentioned (including GiTS 1 and 2). I would recommend Appleseed and Appleseed 2004 (? - I think it was 2004). The latter was produced later but you should watch it first if you want to watch them in timeline order (not particularly important imo).

Martian Successor Nadesico has a lot of comedy/parody elements, but it isn't much like your examples.

Not really looking forwards to Fairy Tail. I read the manga but it's only average for me, and the show will probably end up like Naruto or Bleach anime.
