I'm glad the setup is finally over and the action is really heating up. It didn't look like Luffy used conqueror's haki in his Red Hawk attack, so he still has another level he can go to. However, Law seems almost like fodder against DD and may just play a support role (which his fruit is great for).
Fuji seems interesting, and I like what he's doing now. It seems to fit right and by letting Luffy do the work, he can clear out a corrupt shichibukai without having to go against his orders. I still don't get why he was going after Luffy earlier when Sabo stopped him. I also wonder if Sabo will step in against DD. They have a bit of opposite personalities going for them with Sabo being a noble who renounced it due to the corruption and DD wanting to be a part of the corruption, but being denied by his father.
The most interesting stuff centers around DD. It's interesting that he just seems like a bad guy through and through. Up till now, he had seemed like he might end up being a tragic villain who hated the injustice of the world and wanted to see it all burn. But now we see that he just wanted that injustice to favor him and because it did not, he wants to see the whole world burn... a true villain. Glad we also finally got confirmation on that reference to Joker from Batman.
It does make his crew and their motivations much harder to figure out. If they aren't former slaves that he saved, why are they so in love with a guy who wants to see the world burn? Are they all a group of psychopaths too? What has he done for them that they would sacrifice their own lives at his command like Monet? That's an odd quirk that I can't quite figure out. Maybe as retribution for rejecting him, he freed some slaves from the tenryubito and trained them up?

I have to agree with saltywet on this one. Doflamingo is set on revenge because of what happened to his mom so it makes sense for him to be the one crying while Croazon sids with his dad. What makes you think that a spoiled bratty kid who doesn't know any better wouldn't cry when he lost his mother?

There were several reasons why Doflamingo took 'revenge' upon his father, it wasn't ONLY because his mother died. Additionally, the reason he took revenge on his father is not the same reason he wants to take revenge on the Tenryuubito. He wants revenge on them because they wouldn't take him back, after he murdered his father. Two separate revenges, with two separate, although connected, reasons.

You do know what Conqueror's Haki is right? It overrides the will of much weaker people. For combat skill it's limited to stunning masses of fodder only. It's more of a symbolic talent that represents the person being born a potential king/queen with the ability to rule others.

For numerous reasons. He has displayed loyalty to those he sees worthy (core members) so far, he most likely gifts them with any luxury that money can buy. Being under him means they have a protection of a shibukai that makes their actions immmune from prosecution. There are probably those under him who hate the world leaders as much and sees him having the greatest chance of succeeding.(Which is probably right. DD arming Kaido with the devilfruit is just one string we are aware of in his plan to take down the world government. Unlike others who think DD is blackmailed/fearful of Kaido, I think DD is afraid of losing his probably his biggest unknowing pawn to take down WG. Kaido with an army is probably the only thing that can take down WG in a straight out fight currently. It would go exactly like against WB except DD would have pawns on both sides to ensure both sides utterly destroy each other while he goes off to destroy the world nobles. Shanks only seems to care about his friends and not care about politics, Charlotte only cares about food. Blackbeard is an unknown entity and Kaido would certainly mess up his plans since Kaido presumably wants to rule the world. Out of the previous 4 emperors Kaido would have been the easiest to manipulate and the one that would directly counter his plans. DD isn't some psychopathic loonie that wants to see the world burn. He's shown to be highly intelligent, and him being master of the underworld is indicative of the fact that he has very logical decisions and beliefs which are aimed at revenge. Whether the world is peaceful or more chaotic after the fall of WG isn't his goal or his concern. He only cares to take down the WG and any 'tool' that's not useful for that purpose is something he doesn't need.

if Doflamingo is planning on taking out the WG there would be no end of people with deep grudges against them that he could recruit

I really don't know abotu that. In Luffy vs don chinjao clash, they were both seen using kings haki when they punched(everyone fainted).

ok so when luffy was fighting arlong , was arlong not considered just pure evil? When luffy fought cp9 wasnt lucci basicly described in cover story as a complete psycopathic killer? Crocodiles plan was to kill thousands and basicly was made to be as evil as possible, which he was. Enel same thing etc.
If oda then goes back later and makes the cool charracters less evil just beacuse he wants them back in the story is another matter.
Doflamingo was/is? A chance to break the pattern but if doflamingo also gets painted as a pure villain then its the same pattern for entirety of one piece so far.
When luffy fights a main villian its allways very clear its a super evil dude he must stop. Which is getting old imo.

I'm not even going to start arguing with you. Almost every character in One Piece is grey and not black and white. Even Arlong was portrayed as cruel and whatnot but he was still good to his fishmen bros. e.g. see what he did for Fisher Tiger. He just got consumed by hate, that's all. It's not black and white at all.

One piece is pretty black and white when it comes to luffy and his fights. Only time when it isn't black and white is when the world government is involved. One piece isn't exactly known for it's sophisticated backstory and background for the motivation of the enemies of luffy. Whn do you ever feel that luffy and his crew have ever taken the wrong course of action? Thought provoking debates before action? No, doflamingo once saying something about how justice is determined by the victors of war doesn't count. It's so cliched it makes me want to puke.

So how do you guys think Luffy is going to get out of this one? He seems pretty fucked with his wrists tied behind his back. My prediction is that the Tonatta that has the tying fruit or w/e will come in and save him.
