Luffy wouldn't want it but DD is in far deeper than Luffy will ever be. When bad stuff happens you gotta be able to rely on your underlings to be able to do that sort of thing. Zoro and Sanji showed they were willing to die for Luffy even without him asking so it ain't really a stretch to think other crews wouldn't do the same. | ||

Yeah, I think Oda is trying to highlight some of the parallelisms here between luffy and doffy. They have the same goal, and they seem to view their crew (or their immediate crew in doffy's case) like family. The only real difference is in how they view the rest of the world. | ||
