Aside from Luffy fighting in the Marineford war and Enies Lobby this is the biggest thing the crew has gotten into until now. The way it's been written until now and the way it's set up, this arc seems to be exactly that - a demonstration of power by Luffy and the others. He's literally fighting in front of a huge crowd with big guys like Jesus Burgess showing up. What better way to demonstrate their improved power than in a freaking arena? | ||

Waiting for something better from it other than it looks cool. | ||

If someone has Conqueror's Haki then you know he's someone to take note of, see Luffy/Ace/Shanks/Rayleigh. Note how the -instant- Luffy used C.Haki, Whitebeard ordered his men to follow Luffy in the war. It's as Zoro said, if Luffy hadn't had C.Haki then he wouldn't be someone worth following. | ||

Bronze Kyros, 3rd mate of the Roger Pirates^^ Maybe even the dude that sat together with crocus at rivers mountain. | ||

He actually looks a lot like Ace to me so I wouldn't be surprised. Kinda off topic, but what if Kaido was a gun or something that was given life by feeding it a devil fruit of an intelligent animal. That would make him both a "thing" and "alive", and would also probably make him ruthless and unpredictable because he's completely unhuman. | ||

I might be remembering incorrect, but the ability for a inanimate objects to ingest DF is something relatively new. When Spandaman talked about Franfurt is was still something innovative, so I doubt Kaidou is such a creature since he as been in power for quite some time. Of course there is no 100% denying it. | ||

Roger http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/54867591/16 There's a lot of parallels between Luffy and Gol D. from previous chapters and now there's one connection between Luffy and Kyros. Kyros retired roughly 20 years ago, around the time Gol D. died and the Great Age of Pirates began. Luffy remarks how he resembles Kyros. Rebecca remarks how no one knows his true identity, implying Kyros isn't his real name and/or he's in disguise, like Luffy. The single blow could be a reference to Akainu's scar, or could be referring to a single blow within the Coliseum and not outside of battle, if there's any connections. To add to this, all of these items infused with DFs have been pretty weak compared to named pirates/marines. It'd be odd for one to suddenly become one of the strongest beings in the world in the form of Kaido. I'd also go against the Cavendish prediction. I think he's there to show just how much more powerful the "worst generation" of rookies are compared to their immediate predecessors. So Luffy should whip him pretty badly. But my results in predicting Oda have been pretty bad so far too. | ||
