Yeah, I am thinking the translation might not be helpful but there was a mental break there for me too.
I guess the idea is that we aren't hearing the whole story (yet).

Any other translations besides jaiminisbox that one ought to check out (and is available in EU?).

It doesn't make sense to tie the time travel devil fruit ability to Shanks appearing at marineford as it can only travel forward in time, not in location. So in order to appear, Shanks would need to instantaneously move to marineford before the war began, then activating it at what happens to be at all the right places and to appear at the right time. They would need to be both undetectable and be able to tell the future, in which case they could had easily rescued Ace anytime they wanted to anyways. It's entirely possible that somebody on Shank's crew does have a time ability though, just not that they used the time travel fruit at marineford.

and yeah Shanks cant have toki toki, marineford required him to travel back in time, not forward

We dont know the full abilities of Toki Toki No Mi, i dont think its only capable of sending one the future. Perhaps it has power to slow down the time around him.

Just look at how fast he arrived at front of Akainu when he wasnt even at sight.

Except none of them are as fast ast Shanks... He is so fast that bunch of legendary pirates/marines couldnt sense him coming to Marineford. Everyone was surprised when he showed up right front of Akainu.

Ooooh, okay, I see what you are getting at. In that case, I think Shanks must have the Goro Goro no Mi. We haven't seen Enel since he conquered the Moon. There was plenty of time inbetween when we last saw Enel and Marineford for Shanks to have gotten his Devil Fruit, therefore his fast speed must be because he has Enel's fruit. Enel probably died of Cerebral hypoxia, and then Shanks ate the Fruit once it went back to the Grand Line

Except that its not what i did... We know that Kozuki Toki is died since she has openly said that its the end of her when she sent Momonosuke&co to the future. So her df has to be respawned somewhere in the world right? Considering how fast Shanks moves, i have said that he could have gotten it.

We have seen tons of characters so far in One Piece, just go on show me another person who moves as fast as Shanks that dont have a DF to allow them move fast. There was a 2 meters at best between Cobi and Akainu, and Shanks wasnt even on sight just came out of nowhere to stop Akainu. Or is it Akainu being too slow? I dont think so.
