asspull? I don't believe time travelers fits into an "asspull" since its not an ability so allows the protagonists to overcome anything.

More like a plot development that you aren't happy with.

It's very rare to see any series handle time traveling well but if anyone is capable it's Oda. Still, I don't like this development as of this chapter.

Good call on the time travel, would never have thought of it myself...
Also, just realized Kinemon was first introduced like 6.5 years ago, it's always crazy to me if everything was planned from the start...
Anyway, I usually don't like time travel stuff but I'm curious to see if Oda can make it work.

Time travel has great potential to completely fuck up a series, but it's Oda, so hopefully he has well thought this out and/or restricted it to travelling to the future, and/or is completely plot critical and reveals that the void century is literally a century of time travelling and in the past people were living in a scientific utopia with the ability to destroy stars and time travel or something. It's probably just ~~magic~~ devil fruit in the end anyways, but what a devil fruit it would be.

Time Travel definitely worries me. If it's only sending someone forward in time, then I can accept it. Backwards in time creates so many paradoxes and needs to be a central component of your story if you're going to use it.

I do have faith in Oda though. Ever since Momo came onto the scene, we needed an explanation for some things that didn't make sense and forward time travel would bridge the gap. So this has been in the plan for awhile.

I also remember an old theory that someone in Shank's crew can manipulate time, such as slow it way down. The guess is Lucky Roo who just suddenly appeared next to the bandit back when Luffy was young and shot him, but that could just be super speed. The other hint is that Shanks was supposed to be tied up with Kaido during the Marineford War, but was somehow able to arrive in time to stop it. They may have slowed down time to get there.

So time manipulation has been theorized to be a devil fruit ability for a long time now. An ultimate ability that sent someone into the future could be a component of a devil fruit.

I really hope people can't be sent back in time though. Ugh, that tends to mess stories up.

The last two months have been really lackluster tbh. Perhaps its time to admit that age is finally catching up to Oda.

This time travel stuff will be a big test for him. Lets hope that he wouldnt become another Kishimoto.
