Katakuri acknowledged Luffy as the man who will become pirate king, which is a huge deal. Scene where Luffy puts his hat on Katakuris mouth is way too good. Its also confirmed that we will back to WCI with Elbafs and possibly SH fleet.

Unbelievable stuff. To think that Luffy was able to recognise Pekoms through his disguise. Fighting Katakuri really caused him to level up. I hope he meets Gangster Gastino again--maybe we'll finally know who that was.

Katakuri didn't need to be defeat for that acknoledgement.
But I agree, both the acknoledgement and the cover of his mouth were great scenes.

Looking back at the chapter before this one, Katakuri looks almost as if he'd accepted his fate as if he'd foreseen that he'd lose. Maybe I'm reading too much into it though.

i dont get why oda had to make katakuri pass out like luffy did, only to have him somehow instantly tower over luffy and then collapse again.

I feel kind of bad for Pudding. Her split personality disorder is really annoying her, because she can't tell Sanji how she feels. Sanji telling her he didn't mind that she only pretended to be his fiancee really tore her up.

Were you rushing or were you dragging? Definitely fucking dragging. I dont wanna hate too much and it looks like we finally get to it next chapter but shit can he not waste a quarter of the pages in every chapter showing whats waiting for luffy outside. I swear they even talk the same shit every chapter.
The rest was fine, although i dont quite get why Pekoms would betray Big Mom because of Pedro, especially since Luffy tried to work with Bege of all people to kill her.

The second fall is symbolic. He lands on his back, showing he is indeed defeated this time. Similar to how Doffy's glasses broke only when he was done. It's a nice touch that Luffy covered up Katakuri's mouth after the fight, but I wish the fight didn't end so conclusively. After already going through that 12 hour fight with Cracker a day ago, being the clear winner in this fight seems like Oda is in a bit of a rush to make Luffy stronger.

I hope eventually this all comes back around and the next time we see Katakuri he wears that hat (or rather a hat cause he's so huge that should never fit) and a scar as a memento of this fight.
