I was so hoping for Law to use Shambles beteween Doffy and himself in order to make Trebol blow him up. The sword attack was awesome, tho. I'm guessing maybe Sabo arrives just in time to mitigate the flames?

Also, is Trebol actually a paramecia? That's what it now seems like.

I think he was a paramecia type (not sure how anyone could think "mucus" was an element anyway, but whatever) and that his mucus could much more easily protect him from blunt attacks like Luffy's than blade attacks like Law's sword. Notice also that Law did not cut him with his fruit power, but only used it to move his arm so that he could attack with the blade. Also, given his skinniness, Luffy's attacks might have just missed his body since the didn't know exactly where it was. Trebol could easily dodge "inside" his mucus robe and not show anything on the outside. So that's 2 possible explanations, though I like the first one better. This is how One Piece works though, sometimes people have powers that more easily counter another's, even if their strength is much lower than the other person's.

That would also explain why he didn't get stuck when he punched with haki but also didn't hit him! Cool fight tho, DD really is a monster.. I mean of the best and most usefull DF's ever, plus king haki, excellent use of other hakis, expert fighting, size and power and also speed.. he has it all

DD never cared for his underlings as a real family. The executives first used DD for their plans and then later on DD used them for his gain. He is a heartless bastard.
