This entire series is a metaphor for your late teens and 20s. It's all just filler, man. After all the studying and partying and working out and crazy sex, all you have to show for it when you hit 30 are genital warts that you can't even pass on to your horrible ex that you hate-banged and going back to your crappy life. And it literally consumed ten seconds of nearly every week of your late teens and early 20s! Another thirty minutes if you were dumb enough to keep watching the anime. Chew on that.

Okay friends, since we're coming up against the end of Bleach, I want to do something for shits and giggles. Tell me where you were when you were introduced to Bleach and where you are now. Kurosaki has had absolutely zero character development and he ended the series with his original sword. He's presumably going to go back to high school.
For myself, I was introduced to Bleach in 2002. I was in the middle of college then and still playing Brood War. Now, I'm manager of the new analytics team at a luxury automobile company. I have two masters degrees. I'm married and have a young child and another on the way.

I didn't have a problem with it, bleach's ending is just sad. Time for Toriko & One Piece

Toriko is a fun read.
Also highly, highly recommend Kingdom.

There's a chance for Bleach's epilogue to be good...
Joking aside, a while back Kubo basically said whenever he has writers block he just creates a new character. So, if you wonder where all the pointless characters come from that take space away from actual plot development... well that's where. I went on Reddit to see how other people were handling this ending and a lot of people are blaming his editors for forcing him to end things early. I gotta say that's a lot of faith in him since he's basically admitted and proved that when he doesn't know how to wrap things up, he just pointlessly expands things by introducing new characters.

Haha, we're almost the same age. I got started a bit later, guessing around 2007. My younger siblings were watching the Bount anime arc during a road trip with my parents. I got bored after my guild finished BT before Sunwell was released in WoW. I ended up reading both Naruto and Bleach when we cut back our raid hours.
And I have an MBA now as well.

Toriko was suppose to end soon too or something. By soon I mean in probably another 50-100 chapter or something. Not sure if it has been publicly announced but it has been rumored to. Something to do with its poor rating lately or something.

i can never manage to properly translate chapters into time, im always so surprised when i realise how long ago things happened in manga
worse was the war arc in Naruto kept freaking me out

Bet you guy would be surprise to find out that Quincy arc lasted 4+ years. Started around 480 I think which is around 200 chapters. Naruto last arc might of been longer though
But on a more serious note about the series. Wouldn't the whole soul society collapsed because the "Soul King" is dead? Why am I getting the feeling Aizen going to become the Soul King

Well I thought that since Ywach became soul king, it sort of stabilized. With him dead, wouldnt it just go shit again? It been a while so I am not even sure if Ywach even became soul king sine he just absorbed him or something and became all shadowy

i think the manga wasnt doing so hot so the author was told to speed it up to the conclusion, but then it went up in the rankings b/c fans were like "yo wtf we want this to keep going" and got extended. it's still the final arc most likely, but the author can take his time finishing it up.

Wtf is this xD
I gave up on Bleach like way back when Aizen was mindfucking everyone during the invasion arc and Yammy was actually the strongest Espada (I'm still sour about that..). Recently though, I just had to have closure with this series and from skimming the summary it seems like it's still the same shit. Shoulder cuts, spilled ink, and Aizen sodomizing the minds of the audience. Sad.
The op is perfect for this btw. It deviated so far from where it started. Should've quit at the Soul Society arc.

The manga still had potential at the end of SS, the hollow arc made sense and if it was handled better it would have been really cool (the baddies were cool, so were the Vizards). I think the real missed opportunity is that we never got to see the rulers of hell, they would have made a way more logical enemy than the Quincies. Or at the very least they could have gotten involved in this fight because I'm pretty sure the destruction of the world and SS would impact them as well...
