Ahm, not byakuya... Fear started fight with Rukia with Byakuya's bankai... and Byakuya wasn't around to eat the hollow pill so I'm guessing he will defeat fear with Shikai alone and regain his bankai.... or KUBO!
Just to give everyone an appreciation for the pacing of this arc by this time in the ORIGINAL arc (the substitue) had finished and we were into the next arc (entry into soul society with the Shiba canon)....
What is so dissapointing about what kubo is doing is that he started witch such a great pace, such a great amount of reveals per number of chapters and has just now decided to pretty much completely hit the breaks.
He is, by far, the worst story teller ever... I love bleach, I love the universe, I love the character designs... but the storytelling is just so poorly written it's not even funny anymore...

Ugh, it is. The series started off fine, cool premise, cool characters, adequate exposition, all that bullshit. But come time for the Aizen arc to end, things started sliding downhill. The ending of that arc wasn't terrible, but there was a lot of buildup to things that never happened, top 3 espada ended up being no big deal, number 0 was just dealt with off-screen, you could tell things got as good as they were gonna get some time ago. I continued after the Aizen segment just to see where it would go after, and I've just been saddened by it. Feels like a cash-in at this point.
