This is a brilliant interview with Christopher Reeve. Reeve takes some heavy shots at Marlon Brando. I think i first noticed the toxicity of avid fans after Spiderman3. I went on opening night and I thought it was ok with some silly//corny moments. I was then labelled by some hardcore Spiderman fans as a "sell out" for not calling the movie the total piece of trash "everyone" knew that it was. | ||

The movie has it's flaws though. I'm not convinced on the ending + Show Spoiler + like, she forgives Xavier, figures works out her self-loathing, and her new powers ... then realizes it's too dangerous to stay? I dunno, I thought it was a fine set up to her taking the phoenix powers and using it for the X-men, which would allow them to, two or three movies down the line, do the dark phoenix saga for real changing from peaceful to vengeful on a dime after hearing about Mystique, then changing back just as quick after hearing Beast's speech Anyway, I found this movie miles ahead of x-men apocalypse, and more fun than the last few superhero movies I've watched (captain marvel and avengers endgame). Too bad this x-men crew is no more given the disney aquisition. | ||

So years ago when movies like the matrix and LoTR came out which were phenomenal and 10 out of 10, spiderman gets a 9 meaning thats close to epic movies like these. Im not saying spiderman was bad but it was okish. as Pandemona said it was more of a 13y old would love to watch. I am now 34 I cant be impressed by this kind of acting/plot. I mean the whole story was ridiculous and after watching 30mins of it you can tell whats going to happen, its so obvious. Enough with the rant. I am very sorry but I am really dissapointed with how movies are being scored to famous movie review sites and youtubers and forums. | ||

From this you can conclude that if a movie has an exceptionally high RT score it is probably bland and inoffensive with no obvious flaws. | ||

I agree with what you're saying you are entitled to that opinion just the same way everyone else is and it isn't a perfect movie but for me it seemed to be perfect for a Spiderman movie. I think for me the portrayl of this Spiderman suits and reminds me of the cartoon version because he is goofy but i guess being a teenager means its a bit poor theme wise for anyone above 25, even though im 28 and enjoyed haha. | ||

A 9/10 on rotten tomatoes is not the same as a 9/10 rating over all and I can understand how it overvalues above average movies and buries blow average movies but it does a lot better at cutting through a lot of the garbage movies that were in the past with other ratings systems. That the majority of people don't want to watch movies that are made to make them feel worse shouldn't be a surprise. | ||
