I don't think I've seen any others besides the most recent one, Men in Tights, and the Costner one (which is also awesome)

Saw Furious 7 today. By now, you should know whether or not you like the franchise. I found it to be an okay movie. Not as good as Fast 5 and 6, but it was a GREAT sendoff for Paul Walker and his character. It makes me wonder how the movie was originally going to be, if Walker did not past away because this movie's story is sort of not what you expected it to be. Overall, I would give it a 7/10. FnF fans will definitely love this movie since they've invested time in watching these movies and loving the characters. Vin Diesel talked about New York being a possible location(s) for FnF 8, but Furious 7 had a great ending to stop the franchise.

Saw The Imitation Game tonight with the girlfriend. Man, it was pretty good and pretty tragic. The civilized world, indeed.

Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy.

Kinda overated movie. Is solid, with no mayor flaws, but still not thaaat great. Pretty childish in some topics.
Is like the story take the safe route: a hero, a girl the hero fall in love with and the way around, the sidelines heroes/friends, the very bad and powerful guy, the big final epic battle, and so on. Again, don't get me wrong, is a good movie, but nothing impresive or bold.

3/5.

I would say the problem lies in the ending- the last 1/3 or so. The build up is fine, the battle over Nottingham works. However, the reverse D-Day, French invasion never truly convinced me as a legitimate threat. Just seeing the Dover cliffs lined with English archers and I'm thinking the Debacle of Dieppe and how the hell do the French they are going to win? And then there was Maid Marian and the Lost Boys for some reason- pointless. If they could have somehow tightened up their ending so that story wrapped up in Nottingham, it would have been much stronger.

I saw Furious 7 also. I thought Vin Diesel's lines were extremely cheesy and some of the acting could've been better but other than that, it was a pretty good movie.

a problem with Furious 7 imo was that the action has gone past over-the-top into the downright silly. Constant effort to out do the previous films has taken it a few notches to far for my tastes.

That and the silly places where Statham shows up. + Show Spoiler +
Why was he there when they rescued Ramsey, how could he even know the crew would go to abu dhabui and the party specifically.

I rewatched The Shawshank Redemption the other day, the highest rated movie on IMDB. I don't know if it's the best movie of all time, but it's very, very good.

The Shawshank Redemption is ranked only 419th on TSPDT. Huge disparities between fans and critics.

that list is just an oldies circlejerk though. Not saying that shawshank is an amazing movie but that list is clearly biased and written by "DEM GOOD OLD DAYS" people. some of those movies even in the top 50 are just so incredibly boring I don't care how deep it is or what social issues it discusses. There needs to at least be slight entertainment.

i don't know how anyone can take this list seriously.

"This Is Spinal Tap" is on the list.
While "Monster" , the 2003 epic with Charlize Theron is not.

I decided to watch the first movie in the list made after 1980.

Blade Runner starring Harrison Ford from 1982.

It is a good slow paced movie that allows you to mull over major plot points. If you like a slow paced movie that gives you time to digest each major scene its good. If you don't you'll fall asleep as "Deckard" stares off into the distance.

37th best movie of all time? you gotta be kidding me.

Most largely subjective rankings, especially in things like art and entertainment, put a large value on what impact a work had at the time or how it influenced what came after it. You almost have to to create a baseline for discussion when listing the "greatest" films ever.

If I had to create a list of the "greatest" movies ever it would be very different from a list of movies I personally think are the "best".
