Kinda overated movie. Is solid, with no mayor flaws, but still not thaaat great. Pretty childish in some topics. Is like the story take the safe route: a hero, a girl the hero fall in love with and the way around, the sidelines heroes/friends, the very bad and powerful guy, the big final epic battle, and so on. Again, don't get me wrong, is a good movie, but nothing impresive or bold. 3/5.

I would say the problem lies in the ending- the last 1/3 or so. The build up is fine, the battle over Nottingham works. However, the reverse D-Day, French invasion never truly convinced me as a legitimate threat. Just seeing the Dover cliffs lined with English archers and I'm thinking the Debacle of Dieppe and how the hell do the French they are going to win? And then there was Maid Marian and the Lost Boys for some reason- pointless. If they could have somehow tightened up their ending so that story wrapped up in Nottingham, it would have been much stronger.

Not saying that shawshank is an amazing movie but that list is clearly biased and written by "DEM GOOD OLD DAYS" people. some of those movies even in the top 50 are just so incredibly boring I don't care how deep it is or what social issues it discusses. There needs to at least be slight entertainment. i don't know how anyone can take this list seriously. "This Is Spinal Tap" is on the list. While "Monster" , the 2003 epic with Charlize Theron is not. I decided to watch the first movie in the list made after 1980. Blade Runner starring Harrison Ford from 1982. It is a good slow paced movie that allows you to mull over major plot points. If you like a slow paced movie that gives you time to digest each major scene its good. If you don't you'll fall asleep as "Deckard" stares off into the distance. 37th best movie of all time? you gotta be kidding me.

If I had to create a list of the "greatest" movies ever it would be very different from a list of movies I personally think are the "best".
