Was boring as hell. I also can't stand all the Peter obsession. Do not recommend.

Birdman : 8.5/10. Mindblowing cinematographics, the One-shot experience was so great. Keaton was grandiose, Norton was hard and Stone was enchanting.

+ Show Spoiler + ![]() In my opinion the movie had great cinematography and amazing acting. However (and maybe I'm the only one who feels this way), I felt that the ending left something to be desired. The way the movie is shot is pretty incredible though, and the acting from Norton and Keaton are top-notch. Overall a very good movie. Predestination - 8/10 + Show Spoiler + ![]() Underrated sci-fi movie in my opinion. I thought Ethan Hawke was fantastic in it and the plot is pretty interesting, imo. The movie is based on "All You Zombies" by Robert Heinlein, and I think it is an awesome retelling of his story. The Machinist - 7/10 + Show Spoiler + Interesting concept for a film. Without spoiling too much, The Machinist is a Nolan film at heart, with elements of Memento and The Prestige present, as well as maybe some aspects of Fight Club. However, it's not nearly as memorable or as haunting as any of the other three movies. The protagonist is sort of forgettable and really it's hard to feel bad for him. It's a good movie, but very underwhelming in my opinion. If you have Netflix, it's worth a watch since it's free. The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind + Show Spoiler + ![]() I don't feel like I could rate this movie. It's pretty excellent and it's my favorite Jim Carrey movie I've ever seen. It's not quite a comedy, it's not quite a drama, and it's not a psychological movie really. It's kind of a blend of all three and it's extremely well done. It's about relationships so it's kind of a romantic comedy/drama, but it's not rife with cliches like a lot of the others. I'd highly recommend it.

Objectively there's almost nothing wrong with this romance. It's a bit short at 1hr 20 minutes. But it does a lot with that time. There were some parts where I was confused because I missed a scene, but I was distracted by dogs. + Show Spoiler [Description] + It's about a pop singer whose life is too shallow and who can't do things she wants to do. And a guy with a similar problem. Both have their lives planned by their parents. As fate would have it, they meet each other and fall in love. I think I wanted to see this movie because of the premise so I can't be objective about it. But I think it was a good movie.

The hobbit was terrible, one long action sequence with no point and barely any redeeming features whatsoever. At least the second one had the dragon being awesome. Jupiter ascending was great. I dont understand the people who say it was a stupid movie. It was patently silly yes ![]()

I loved the way Birdman was shot. Just a really great way to keep the story going. Whiplash, wow. The pacing was phenomenal.Start to finish I was hooked. JK Simmons was amazing.

I definitely recommend it, though. It's a by-the-books, well made movie with a good pace, that I enjoyed but most likely won't revisit.

The reactions and emotinoal output is actually much more similar to real life. Its not 'acted' in the sense that everyone has learned the perfect Shakespearean acting technique, but its natural and nicely done IMO. 2. Personally i think the cinematography is great. 3. Everything in the movie makes perfect sense. If you feel like there are events that are unexplained, you haven't been able to work it out yet. This isn't an insult to your intelligence - I watched the movie 4-5 times before it all clicked into place. There is an absolutely perfect logical consistency, but its quite abstract and hard to follow. I would give it 9/10 if i'm allowed to take marks off for the quality of the camera used. It was made for $6000 though, as you rightly say, and i think for this i would push it up to be one of only a few 10/10 movies i've ever seen. Its all subjective i suppose. I think this movie was probably made by someone who sees the world the same way i do. I can see why its a very niche sort of film but i absolutely love it. Its almost impossible to believe that its only 77 minutes long; its just so dense, I would also recommend Upstream Color - Shane Carruth's latest - though its even more baffling than this one. The style is similar - although it was probably made on higher budget. It has the same deeply unsettling atmosphere about it - and the same psychological intensity. I can also suggest Upstream Color although I can only vouch for one watching though. During the first 20 or so minutes I thought it was mildly interesting then after that it took off. I can only say that it always gave something to think about and appreciate and I was excited and happy the whole time watching it. I think I will have to re-watch before I can verbalize it properly. I was sort of forced to watch it and it's easy to say its the shittiest film I've ever seen. Worst plot ever, pointless and horribly acted cliches/romance/rivalries, there were so many scenes where I felt like the characters had no idea whatsoever of what they were doing and they were just there for the movie to come in one piece. This is the only 0/10 I might ever rate.

I wonder how you would rate some really bad movies, you'd get into the negative values?

It felt like they just tried to made a movie in a supposedly advanced world, with some badass robots (with a goddam sword ffs) with a supposedly very complex control mechanism, add some romance there, stir a bit of jealousy/manfight rivalry here and there... you get the idea, I think the script writers are to blame cuz it looked like a high school project. If I were one of the actors I would feel stupid myself "like you really want me to say that? god thats so from grand book of cliches". It is only the CGI that makes it look cool, it was an empty movie. Thats all just my opinion of course.

Have you watched any blockbuster release? 90% are 'empty' movies which have nothing besides the 'cool' cgi which im honestly getting pretty tired of. Guardians of the galaxy, jupiter ascending, edge of tomorrow etc. etc.
