Never saw it before but I'm shocked. I never watched it because it has a 70%~ from typical audience members but when I looked a little deeper the film buff critics gave it way higher. Not sure how to describe, its a meteoric experience rivaled only by foreign films like "Ikiru" by Kurosawa that is unlike anything I've seen. Mallick presents life as it really is, a great vast expanse of nothingness with no real resolution, and honors the innocent in life instead of the decaying Machiavelli's.

![]() I just got around to watching Lady Vengeance. I must say that after watching all the other Asian vengeance movies, they have somewhat lost their taste. They're all very unique, explore the theme of vengeance from a different angle, and they're all great movies individually, but the emotional impact is fairly consistent. I would still recommend this movie to anyone though. Here are all the vengeance films I'm referring to: Oldboy Mr Vengeance Lady Vengeance Memories of Murder I Saw the Devil Confessions Personally, I found Oldboy and Confessions to be my favorites, so if you haven't watched any of them, I would recommend those two first.

Friends with Benefits It was a good movie. It's funny. It makes fun of its own genre. It has really top notch actors. They just hire well known actors everywhere and use them as bellhops with like a second of screen time. I would have felt more if I could relate to it better. Still it made me reflect a bit. It is very cliche.

+ Show Spoiler + The TK, or telekinesis addition to the movie was unnecessary. They could've made the little kid a 300IQ genius who was going to take over the mafia with his brain instead of some supernatural X-MEN-esque power. Also, the main antagonist(Kid Blue), was just some weird drug addict with no back story who just flaunted his big gun. They could've added more depth to his character like in the future he was a big shot gangster and his reason for trying so hard to kill Joe was to live up to his future self. Overall the movie was decent, Bruce Willis was a bad ass, as usual and Gordon Lewitt played his role pretty well

![]() The Raid: Redemption - Not bad, over the top action movie with a shitload of fight scenes.Plot is like a puddle but if you are watching this you mostly just wanna see cops/thugs killing eachother off, and that it does well. ![]() The Yellow Sea - Korean taxi driver living in China is in debt and takes a job to kill someone in South Korea in exchange for paying off his debt. Once he gets there though, alot of unexpected events take place that spiral out of control. Pretty good, although the first half is pretty slow. From the same director that made The Chaser.

![]() The Oregon Trail in totally raw form. Brilliant and nails exactly what it was going for. Watching this is as close as you can get to the portrayed experience while being in the living room or movie theater. It dried out my mouth and made me thirsty, gave me a window into the world where they walked thousands of miles with all their belongings through mostly nothingness into complete uncertainty, and is tense as all get out with its lack of answers. The only problem I had was that a good portion of the dialogue was unintelligible to me, but I didn't even find that very important. It makes absolutely no apologies for not following normal storytelling form nor for its ponderous pace (this is intentional to evoke the unending miles and the isolation of the journey), and I'm sure it's aware of how intolerable it will be to some of the audience but it doesn't care.

The Virgin Spring, Ingmar Bergman. In medieval Sweden a young girl loved by her parents is killed and raped by 2 shepards. They come to sleep at the farm, but they don't know it's her parents'. Marvellous story , perfectly directed by Bergman. Rarely have I seen the theme of justice, vengeance and religious belief so well tied. 1h25 of pure truth. 10/10 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069281/ Sleuth, Joseph L. Mankewicz I'll say as little as I can on the story : a young 2nd generation immigrant comes to the mansion of the husband of his mistress. That old man loves to play games, and crazy one at that. Smart, incredibly good actors (Sir Laurence Olivier and Michaël Caine are both stunning), great directing, lively and fast, humour, hatred... An excellent movie. If you want to watch a classic and be sure of a minimum quyality, Mankiezwicz is your man. Here it's one of his best work. 9.5/10
