![]() Entertaining movie, not really sure wtf it was about, but hot girls and nice action scenes did it for me! Kind of a twist at the end which made it interesting. I'd rate it 7.5/10

The Rum Diary i didnt read the book, from what ive heard the movie doesnt really do it justice. it definitely tries to be too funny at times, should have stayed a little bit more on the realistic side, obviously cant compare at all to the brilliant 'fear and loathing in las vegas', objectively mediocre, but hey, it has johnny depp playing hunter s. thompson so i guess there never really was any chance for me not to enjoy it 6/10 because im a depp/thompson fanboy The Number 23 starts out well enough, builds suspense and has jim carrey in a serious role, which i always appreciate. but then the whole plot goes out of the windows when the movie just tries the worst and most unbelievable plot twist ever at the end, i guess just in order to tell you 'haha, i guess you didnt see THAT coming'. 4/10 what a waste after the interesting start eXistenZ weird movie... started out really stupid and bad, didnt like the setting or the actors, so i stopped after 20 minutes... 3/10 because i guess i shouldnt review movies that i didnt even see halfway... Senna good documentary about one of the best drivers of all time. i didnt realize how long it was (2 1/2 hours) while i was watching it, so i guess i was well entertained. the whole prost vs senna thing is hilarious, and his death of course tragic... 7/10 for a good portrait of an interesting character The Hypothesis of the Stolen Painting very weird, very artsy, strangely fascinating, but literally nothing happens. interesting just for its weirdness, and fairly clever i guess. but not really a movie in many ways 4/10 for pure bizarrness Tucker and Dale vs Evil reasonably funny, reasonably clever, good premise but mediocre execution and acting for the most part. could have been a little bit more clever to develop the plot without completely unbelievable scenes (wtf is he running after the kid with the chainsaw? makes no sense..., also i dont appreciate a scene that makes no sense and is just included for the sake of making a dick joke (the trap)) 5/10 because the plot feels a little bit too forced at times The Darjeeling Limited okay wtf is this supposed to be, seriously. i did never totally not get a movie as much as this one. why it good good reviews or why anyone would like it is unfathomable to me. its not really funny, so it cant be a comedy. there is no acting or emotions, so it cant be a drama, there is no action or suspense, so it cant be an action movie, india is portrayed in a completely silly way, so it cant be a travel movie. a total trainwreck of a movie, horrible in every aspect. i guess all of wes anderson's movies are like this? seriously, who likes this kind of crap? 2/10 because it made me laugh once The Last Unicorn re-watched it after seeing it as a small kid. unfortunately, its overly long and way too cheesy at times (especially the songs), because the story, mood and art is beautiful. could be better but still worth watching, especially for all you unicorn fans out there 5/10 good for its time, but doesnt compare so favouribly to newer mangas i guess Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind re-watched this recently after seeing it maybe five years ago. absolutely brilliant movie, a little bit lenghty at times but unbelievably clever, just like 'being john malkovic'. the latter might be more funny than this one, but this one is just sooo true. everyone who ever was in a relationship will recognize parts of himself in the story. the special effects are also awesome, and some of the scenes get downright scary in a paranoia/psychedelic/nightmare way 8/10 a seriously good movie, just a little bit slow paced at the start

![]() The film has some amazing critical acclaim, but it didn't really "do it for me." I believe that there is a gene for work ethic. I do agree that + Show Spoiler + A Vincent with his genes could have become as successful as he did in his world, but I also believe that eugenics would make people smarter and healthier overall. And I do believe that some people have an easier time in life doing well in school and having better lives than others. Oh well, I couldn't expect much from a film that goes against my beliefs on determinism. 7/10

I still have a few more left before I can say that I have seen all of Kurosawa's movies but this would fall within the top 3 that I have seen so far (enjoyed Throne of Blood and Ran more overall). It's pretty damn long though, 3 1/2 hours and it doesn't get real interesting until the 2nd half. It's a film you really need patience for. Still, it's a must watch for any fan of cinema. Throne of Blood and SS were nice, but with Kurosawa my favorites still remain (in no order, I can't force myself to rate them as each is too different): Dreams Kagemusha Yojimbo

Just went to the movies and saw this in the OV: ![]() Rust and Bone I guess this movie will be praised and rewarded in Cannes. I can understand it, it's a good movie, well acted, beautifully filmed, and with flashes of humor that don't destroy the movie's sad theme. + Show Spoiler [possible spoiler, no details tho] + Still, I found that it went overboard in some parts. Too many sad events for one movie (could've done with one or two; you'll see what I mean once you see it), the lack of honesty in some parts and the overall hopefulness just doesn't do the story justice. Shit like this happens and there's rarely a way out. Good movie, watch it if you have time. Don't expect to be overwhelmed though.

I will be honest and say that I thought it sucked. :S ![]() Seven Samurai - I think many would rate this as Kurosawa's best film. I totally agree with you regarding Gosford Park. I tried really hard to like that movie. I really did. Yet I found it sooo boring and just really lacking. I just saw Hunger Games. Went to see it with extremely low expectations and first half and hour or a bit more still managed to disappoint me. The beginning is so cliche and feels really childish. Then however it got better. Overall I would rate it at 7.5/10 maybe 8/10. Not a bad movie in the end despite pretty poor beginning. And I agree with a poster above: that shaking camera pissed the crap out of me. Didn't add anything to the movie but made it difficult to follow some scenes. It is as if the director didn't know how to make the beginning of the movie more interesting so it decided to shake the camera a bit.

![]() 8.5/10 I thought it was a great movie, definitely deserving of its status as a classic and whatnot. Ending was very sad (as intended, I guess), and the fact that it focused famously on a different protagonist than the book made it very effective, I thought. It's a very very well-done film based on a movie, because it and the novel both exist separately as great works. Highly recommended!

Safe House - 4/10 Action movie about some CIA safe house in South-Africa. Its the typical hero story with the ohhhhhhhhhh so predictable story.... It has some good action movies, and its ok to watch on an evening where battle.net servers are down. But dont expect an epic movie.

![]() This movie is one of my all time favorites, mostly because it is so simple, yet complex at the same time. The relationship between the two characters (Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson) truly shows how two people can truly bond in the most array of situations in their lives. First time through, this movie literally brought me to tears, and that does not usually happen to me. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

![]() Was too skeptical to watch in in theaters, but I should've been more open. Great movie that is a lot more faithful to Doyle's Sherlock than I would've thought. Downey and Law have great chemistry. The directing (Guy Richie) is a lot of fun. The script isn't the most clever thing Sherlock has ever done, but it has its moments. Some explanations felt a little rushed and slapped together. But overall, highly entertaining. And it does a good job giving you the feeling of a Dickensian England. Looking forward to watching the sequel.

It has some of the most insane fight scenes I have seen in 26 years of my life. At moments the whole room was saying aloud "what the fuck" that's how insane it was. And people cheering after fights because they were so awesome. just watches this film tonight. oh my god. JIZZinMYpants

If you like movies with the one or the other odd moment, it got it's funny moments, but to me it was not worth the tickets. :/ Yeah no way this movie was going to work, but I do heartily recommend downloading the old TV episodes. The show was quite brilliant if you can appreciate how campy it is, it's just impossible to translate an episodic comedy-horror-soap TV show into a 2hr movie that people of today will want to watch.
