Really doubt it tbh, but I'd like to hear a more reliable source.

It seems like it might be a reference to him being a possible pedophile but I would assume being a eunuch that it might mean something else. I thought it might be because he knows everything going on so of course he knows the names of all the boys serving but that seems pretty tame.
My wife thought there were other references earlier to this but I don't remember them. Any one else have any insight into that exchange?
It means that a lot of the children in the city are his spies, or something to that effect.

It isn't that easy but for the sake of the show Tyrion cutting off a leg like that was fine. Normally you'd need a really strong swing to take any limb off of someone. At least as much as splitting wood, I would think.

Varys uses children as spies. His "little birds". There are some offhand remarks about them through season 1, and one of them is seen in Vaes Dothrak in episode 7 of season 1. Littlefinger points one out to Ned in episode 3 or 4 I think.

I think it depends a lot on the type of the sword. I know samurai swords can easily cut limbs off.

Awesome, thats what I was hoping, I love the scenes between him and Tyrion.

Yeah it is suppose to be difficult, remember Theon trying to do the execution. Maybe a trained soldier could do it but it would probably be pretty difficult. I believe Henry the 8th had a special executioner brought in for Anne to be sure that it would be only one stroke needed, so it is possible but they were trained to do it.
Sansa wasn't sure if it was Joffreys plot to see loyalty of her. Perhaps other reason if she tries to leave and they do win (they did) she is certainly dead.
Sick production this episode. The battle was done as well as they could have with the limited budget (Limited multimillion budgt that is). Someone already uploaded the scene on youtube:

About equally hard I'd say. Both requires you to be able to slice strought bone, but while the skull is "more" to get through, its also thinner than the spinal cord.
Both are tremendously difficult thought. That said, I'm not speaking from experience or anything But even in the universe that is Game of Thrones, Theon needed 3 swings to get through Ser Rodrik's neck. So Stannis must be a pretty huge badass to get through in one swing like that. Same for The hound (although we already knew that), and Tyriel for chopping a guy's leg clean off.

Quality of the sword and aim also makes a big difference.

It's the song that is playing in the beginning of this episode when they are sailing in the dark etc.
Big +1 on this, gives me the chills every time I hear it
It's Ramin Djawadi who made this song too. I don't think it has any other name than "Stannis Baratheon's Theme" for now tho. But here it is in 1080p friend! :D

in S1 Littlefinger also suggests that Varrys uses little boys for sexual pleasures, we don't know if it's true or not, but we do know he had "little birds" everywhere, who are mostly young children.

Splitting wood is not that hard.
Yes, but you still need to put your back into it and swing well. Ned's decapitation was realistically done imo, but I don't think Tyrion had enough power behind the blow to take off the dude's leg that easily. Not with that angle, it didn't feel right. The blow would definitely have crippled the soldier though.
Not that I'm an expert at separating limbs off of people or anything.
