The poster mentioned the possibility that Lyana Stark didn't love Robert Baratheon, but instead she fell in love with Rhaegar Targaryen and ran away to King's Landing with him. Everyone joined the rebellion as an opportunity to dethrone the Mad King, but Robert did it for a woman that possibly didn't love him back. Much of this is never explicitly stated, but there's some possible evidence, like Robert being the only character to have anything negative to say about Rhaegar IIRC.
The depth of the lore of ASOIAF amazes me. That actually makes a lot of sense. Interesting Mod edit: spoiler spoiler spoiler
Perma ban if this is real.
Do not read anyone.

Goddamnit, how do some people still not understand the warning at the top of the page?
Wow, I was spoilered here again, seems like I need to stop reading this thread...
Isn't it possible to make posts need mod approval first before they appear?
Since I've just had the entire series of books spoiled for me, and people can't seem to get it through their thick fucking heads not to spoil in this thread, I think we should close it. There's another thread that's the same as this one. Fuck.
He wasn't telling the truth. There is nothing in the books that confirms what he wrote so take it as a theory and nothing more.
Especially since it's written in red at the top of the page. Some people.. just don't get it. I'm glad I escaped getting spoiled. I feel sorry for you guys.
It's not a spoil, just readers spéculations.
Can someone PM me roughly what the post said, now that it's removed I'm quite curious.
Fuck yes my sister just told me she wanted to borrow my books, she has watched like 2 episodes of the tv show. As a book elitist, I am awfully happy right now.
Looks like I dodged a bullet
lol what did he say? I've read the books, you can pm me I don't care

Havent read the books + Show Spoiler +If this were true, Jon Snow could be the son of Rhaegar and Lyana Stark. Which would make sense that Ned would take as a "bastard" son in order for Robert not to kill him.

and me :D
Although this speculation is really interesting it might be better in the other thread as they would be more likely to know!

That would be epic plot twist for both speculating posts. I am still thinking about starting to read books (at least first one) but after seeing tv series book is just too slow :D

It was speculation but he constructed the post in a fashion referencing future books and saying "after X book I feel my theory is confirmed." I'm paraphrasing there but it was still far from acceptable.
So if this removed post wasn't spoilering, does anyone mind sharing his speculations? In a PM if it's not suitable for this thread.

Speculations based on evidence from the book, so it counts as book discussion.

I really wonder why all the speculating based on the books is not done in the thread dedicated to the people that have read the books. Instead it is done in the thread with the people that have not read the books, who can not participate in this speculating as they dont have the same knowledge. Makes no sense at all.

Because some people have only read up to where the television series is. If you go to the other thread, I'm sure you'd get spoilers all the way from book 5, which they don't want either.
Granted, they should be respecting the fact that none of us that watch the show want to be spoilered at all
