Yes. Even in 2012, people can't even watch instantly US stuff. Stupid.

I really wonder what people that have not read the books thought about the ending. That was truly different from anything before.

Was he holding the crossbow cocked as a threat or did he intend to kill the one being beaten? Also, are we to assume the girl being beaten would survive that torture? The way the scene ended just personally confused me is all. I thought it was pretty clear that he threatened the red haired whore with the crossbow so that she beats the other one. The beaten one was then supposed to be presented to Tyrion in order to show him what he thinks of his gift.

I thought it was doing a good job at being pretty realistic w/ a few unusual things thrown in, but which still made natural sense. Now this...what's next?? Ya, I hate the red women. Fuck magic and gods and all that. I just want to see diplomacy and swords. Magic just feels like cheating. Even the dragons kind of rub me the wrong way. When they talk about the dragons "leveling cities and armies" i can't help but feel like everything else that is happening is pointless. Congratulations on having a big army and loyal vassals, too bad these dragons will just swoop in and kill them.

Listen to the episode where Bran is talking to the Maestor Luwin about the Valyrian chain link. He alludes to a point about magic being connected with the dragons and how it all died out with them (or something to that effect).

Congratulations on having a big army and loyal vassals, too bad these dragons will just swoop in and kill them. If anything, I think it just symbolically makes the entire series even more realistic and fits the ongoing theme of shit happens, just at a more subtle level. No matter how hard you plan and weave and succeed in life, you will never be in absolute control. You never know what could happen, you could just get really unlucky and life could decide to take a shit on all those plans (possibly in the form of a dragon swooping in and killing them all, as you mentioned). The reason you give for why it's unrealistic is really just a different form of the cheating, lying, backstabbing, etc that already goes on regardless of magic/dragons.
