Forgive me my crime and thanks for allowing random posters to spoil everything a 1000 times (hint: this thread does not work at all). I agree whole heartidly, some of my posts were met with warnings, and even a ban or two without even spoiling anything. Even stating that series came from books gets you a warning in this thread. In fact have 1 b, 2 o's, and 1 k throughout your post will get you warned. This thread is way to heavily moderated, and is ridiculous. Yet at the same time it's not like they will let us make a separate thread outside of the book thread which has spoilers for any of the books beyond ACOK. You can't even put a spoiler, in spoiler tags, tagged with SPOILER. Because apparently people are to weak willed to not click it. Example + Show Spoiler + This is a Warning! Show nested quote + SO basically, get rid of every female in the series? Arya is one of my favorite characters. Sansa's story is enthralled in kings landing and you would have no queen or jofferey scenes. As well Catelyn's role is huge. Like uber huge..... And I just flat out disagree with you. No Daenerys either???? Do you even like this show? Don't respond to this book discussion. Thanks in advance for your cooperation, p4NDemik (Do not reply to this message. No one will receive it.) Have no idea how in my OP I said anything about the book at all and was worthy of a warning. Note to p4NDemik, story line doesn't mean the same thing as BOOK. Charlie sheens character on 21/2 men had story line, was that a book too? I nominate the ability to make a season 2/3/4/5 etc thread that allows people to discuss the show AND the book. Because this thread has just gone over the top with moderation and needs to stop. Or these mods need to get warnings themselves for some of the shit that has gone down in this thread. So If I can get a PM from a mod, green lighting me the ability to create a s2 show AND book discussion thread that would be greatly appreciated. No the other thread is not sufficient, so don't try using that as any basis. Also, don't say that westeros online has it's own section of book to book discussion because I would like to share my thoughts, converse, and debate with people from TL. Imagine if people got so butt hurt in the LOTR threads every time someone mentioned something from the books, or that the series did infact COME FROM BOOKS.

He fought against Robert on the Trident (when prince Rhaegar died) taking a spear wound, a sword wound, and multiple arrows, and instead of just killing Barriston outright, he offered him peace. Also his wife's brother. Robert also seemed to enjoy rubbing the fact that he was king in Jaime's face, making him gaurd him while he was screwing around on his sister.

He wasn't married to cersei at that point. Was with Ned's sis Lyanna. Rhaegar stole lyanna which sparked the whole war to begin with. Jamie wasn't killed because lannisters are balling out of control. And he would have a poor ass kingdom w/o the lannisters so for the most part Jamie's "sin" was more or less went "unnoticed" because A) he killed rhaegar, roberts worst enemy. So regardless of oath, he got a kings pardon B) He needs the money, hence why he married cersei.

Not going to happen.. there's no way you can directly translate book to screen. Not 10 ep per book anyways. Also most of the changes/scenes added were good. I'm a bit scared for future seasons though...

They haven't strayed that much at all. If they did the show exactly like the book it would need like 20 episodes for season and it would not be fun to watch and way too confusing if they tried to fit it into 10 episodes. 1 example: I was actually glad they made Shae Sansas maid since making her the maid of that other woman (can't remember name) would've been too confusing for the viewers.
