I'm going to re-watch the episode again and sober lmao to see if I missed anything Yeah, there's a lot of gods, was thinking when I watched this that they skipped past it a little quick for anyone who hasn't read the books. I think they made it worse by not using names. I think they were trying to keep it simple, but I never heard Melisandre's name in the episode even though she was in multiple scenes. So if you haven't read the books, who is this woman in the red? There's really no way to know just going off of the show. I can only hope they'll go more in depth later on. I did really like how they did the poisoning scene, but it lost a lot of impact without knowing the background.

I don't like Craster as much, would have imagined him way more slim and cruel looking, but his house is exactly like I imagined it to be. So far a really good job, but I really can not stand the thought of this season only beeing 10 episodes, or the thought of how long it will take till s3 will air..

I loved every of the few sentences he spoke. Man, I'm really surprised to see the amount of book readers who liked the actor they picked for stannis. Everyone I watched with/talked with after who has read the books groaned about him. It was my only real gripe of the episode. Stannis is supposed to be a great soldier, gritty, strong jawed and slightly psychotic. This was just some balding asshole who doesn't look like he's ever picked up a sword. He also reminds of a balding version of the dad on modern family. The scene where Stannis is constantly correcting the message was so awesome in the book but the actor made it seem so weak and meager in the show. I'm really bummed about the way Stannis is being portrayed. Everything else was ace though.

No. There is a rumor that they will film season 3+4 together but that has not been confirmed, and I don't think HBO or the producers is the source of ther rumour. That would probably mean a delay in release so that season 3 would start 1 1/2 year from now. It's not like they can just pour in more money to make twice the amount of content in the same space of time. That would mean a drastic cut in quality since it would put too much of a strain on the producers. I don't think that it is unrealistic that Craster is well-kept and well-fed. Good hygiene is not something that is limited much by technology. People used to have pretty good hygiene in certain native and ancient societies (though not so much in Europe in the late medieval age and Renaissance). He also has a whole team working for him in food production, and I am sure he gets to pick the best bits.

It would only really make sense for them to film 4+5 together, for reasons that I can't discuss in this thread.

Impossible, book 3 is the biggest with the most plot action (ADwD is bigger but less actions), doing book 2+3 in 10 episodes would suck so bad. As for this episode, it was definetly good imo, I feel they took enough time for each scenes with known characters. My only 2 complaints would be that the new characters at Dragonstone would be confusing for people not having read the book, like they might wonder what all this was about. Also the end scene, it's just hinted why they kill the boys and would have gained in clarity if joffrey would clearly have stated the order to kill every bastard of robert.

First episode of season one we are presented with this piece when Robert arrives in Winterfell, a sequence of scenes showing the court and the somewhat calm kingdom. Once again have a sequence of scenes guided by music at the season premiere, and the tune is very similar, however, this time it's much darker, as Westeros crumbles without it's former leader (just check the last 2-3minutes of S02E01). Robert's glory opposed by the hunt to destroy his legacy... too good. Edit: Forgot to say, Lena Headey is even more beutiful this season... just wow.

"You may even be killed by a boy". Holy shit , Robb Stark perfectly casted. So far all the "extra" scenes they have added in have been awesome. The one scene I was a bit disappointed with was the one where the old Maester tries to poison Melisandre. They actually combined two scenes from the book together, and I think they stuffed a bit too much information into one scene (something that is hard to avoid with these stories) My beef is that I remember Melisandre drinking first, then revealing to the old maester that she knew of his teachery the whole time. He is supposed to say "But... I saw you drink it" Oh well, They are doing a great job adapting it!!!

Yeah when reading the books, i got the image that stannis was suppose to look like the actor who played leonidas in 300. Davos character looks more like what i imaged stannis to be and stannis looks like what i imagined davos would look like.

She knows how to control, er motivate her men. ![]() Maybe, but I don't get the feeling there is much tension between Jorah and Dany. At least there has never been a moment on screen like the one between Dany and whatever that Dothraki dudes name is. I mean there is definitely the sense that Jorah is enamored of Dany, but I don't think Dany sees him the same way at all. Whatever happened when she was sending that guy away seemed mutual. My girlfriend who hasn't read the books was confused and I had to pause it to explain what was going on. + Show Spoiler + Also, no shots of Davos' fingerless hand? Or did I miss it? They didn't mention it this episode but I know I saw a scene in one of the previews HBO released where it showed Davos and Stannis talking about it.
