As some in this thread already pointed out, the Dragonstone scene felt somehow rushed. Other than that great first episode, hope to see more of Arya in the next one.

I have the same feeling about her, she doesn't look as exotic/mysterious as I have imagined her while reading the books.

Jack Gleeson is amazing. It's like Joffrey from the books sprang right out of the pages. Just looking at his face makes you want to slap him (or worse)! Almost felt bad for Cersei in the closing minutes, but of course my sympathy completely disappeared with the scene after. Loved the extra interaction with Theon ( ), Bran's warg dream, direwolves finally having an extended use in a scene and looking scary instead of cuddly, and the red comet tying the whole episode together. Some scenes/lines were kind of eyebrow-raising (whorehouse training scene AGAIN?, knowledge is power?) and of course the nitpicker in me wishes that some scenes from the book had made it in, but overall I think it was well done.

All during the scene between jamie and Rob i was thinking:
"Jamie Lannister sends his regards."

I want more scenes with Tyrion, every second of him is gold.

Quite a weak start of the season to be honest. At times it felt like a random collection of scenes without any real overlapping storyline. Then again, that's what the books feel like too.
|
more daneris storyline please. dragons are teh awesome.
I found it funny when Rob wanted the body of Ned back, cause his head is on a pike

Joffrey scenes where absolutely my favorite parts of this episode. The actor who's playing him is doing such a awesome job. He isn't a character that stood out for me while reading the books but is certainly one of my favorite ones from the show thus far.

Oh snap! Can't wait until I get home from work to watch this shiiiiit. So excited.

Yeah that guy nailed the role.
I don't like Stannis though. He doesn't have much umm, presense, if you know what I mean.
|
Cersei (i dunno why, but i really like the actress and the role O_O) scenes and Rob - Jamie scene were best for me so far. I havent read the books, but this episode had some sort of rush i felt. Although, acting was really good.

Tyrion is such à fuckin baller, cant wait for next episode!

This can be answered as its already happened in the TV series and thus isn't a spoiler. Yes. It did happen in the books, altough not directly like this. It was found out later.

Absolutely. It takes skills to be able to act as a character so universally hated. That doesn't make me want him any less dead though >.<

Joffrey and Tyrion are both soooo good!!

I hate Joffrey in the books as well as in the tv show. But HBO really did a good job finding this actor for Joff. Just look at him and you have this hating feeling toward him already

yep, same here. Love Tyrion but I think Stannis needs some more musle and harderness for such a man. He looks kind of weak for the role.

The only scene that was inappropriate was the scene where Littlefinger fucks up - he doesnt do that. He is supposed to be cunning, planing ahead and clever - not arrogant. Other than that, it was amazing. Good job by both actors and the crew

I think Stannis could do with another 20 pounds of physical presence but his physical size aside I think he's pretty good for the role. Pretty pleased with all the new cast members. Melisandre is suitably hot. The only scene that translated poorly was the scene where Stannis' maester tried to poison Melisandre.
|
I like Stannis, actually. He's always been described as not being a people person, basically. He's just, but cold, and that's just what I saw in the episode.

Lena Headley is absolutely nailing the role. I just wish she would be a little bit harder and less sympathetic at times.
