I wish they would have put more weight into the strategy and tactics behind the two battles. Especially the one where Jamie is captured. It isn't apparent in the show that Robb was outnumbered and that it was he and his advisers cunning and Jamies boldness that won him the victory. Otherwise it was a great episode. I can somehow understand that they wanted to give the ending of the episode more time. I guess some things have to be cut when you make the season 10 episodes instead of 12.

I think she looks right, I just don't remember her being this much of a bitch.

Since you can apparently get a raven from King's Landing to the wall pretty quick, he must have received it by now? I mean, if I was him, and I found out some punk kid is usurping my rightful throne, his armies are out and about fighting the starks...well i'd get my men and march on his ass. Especially since he's a general (I think?) I thought that the start of episode 8, when the Lannister guardsmen were running through the streets killing Stark & Associates, they specifically killed Ned's courier on a wagon. I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure it was the same guy.
edit: additionally, this episode was awesome. I had already been spoiled by my brother, but it didn't take away from that feeling of "this is wrong, someone needs to intervene". Glad I'm free to live in a democratic society rather than a monarchy.

Lol this episode was brilliant, was watching it with my brother and he was like "Hell yeah! ned got this shit, F- you Jeoffry, ned's gonna own ya!" and the way his face changed in that final scene when the sword finaly came down... was absolutly amazing... omg . Also, i find it funny how much people are like "OMFG WTFBBQHOTSAUCE! IM NOT WATCHING THIS SHIT ANYMORE" they will be back

My jaw hit the floor with this episode. God damn.. Don't know if I can last a whole week :C

I appreciate where they went with Shae, they made her a little bit stand out from the run of the mill riff raff whores running all over the place (and she sounds like a Polish girl in my work which she wont hear the end of).
Yoren was excellent with Arya and the Jon and Aemon scene was very effective also.
Getting passed the shock factor of the episode, I was dissappointed the battles seemed to have been acted out by minimal numbers but I understand the reasoning, just hope to hell they turn this around next season if there are any bigger battles.
Oh and something that came to me, Varys was outstanding in the opening scenes I felt, he showed a fire and passion which screamed truth but I'm not so convinced he is telling the whole truth when he says he is acting in the interests of the realm, we shall see!
Definitely one of the stronger episodes in my opinion.

Exactly how I felt about this episode. Other than that the episode was brilliant. Although everyone is discussing the exectution right now, other things like the master Aemon monologue and Ser Walder Frey with Catelyn were great too. The young actress who plays Arya is simply outstanding and I really hate Joffrey as much as I hated him when I was reading the books. So kudos to the Joffrey actor as well I guess

If someone makes a gif on the Ned scene with the bisu jaw drop I will <3 you

I never read the books, I kind of had a feeling that some shit was going down but that was crazy so mad.... so mad

Are you kidding me? I've seen people - both in films and real life - suffering from much, much bigger wounds and they still live, yet the almighty Khal Drogo is dying due to a freaking small cut near his shoulder? What on earth is this? Even when it festered, it can only make the guy ill at most, not killing him. WTF.

He's suppose to be 15. Doesn't change the fact that GRRM tried to depict Medieval in fantasy setting. At that time it was commonplace for noble people to get married at the age of 13 (with marriage already being planned years ahead). And even look at Sansa/Joffrey, Cersei specifically asked her if she has bled yet, which would be the indicator of her being of age suitable for marriage. The average age of menarche (first period) for girls is 11.75 years so that's pretty young. Not to say that Daenerys is supposed to be 13 and gets fucked the first episode by a 40 year old giant. And impregnated. Incest was pretty common too in medieval times as well. Also during medieval times, animals were put on trial for their crimes. I love this derail for random facts about medieval times. Let's start a thread?
seriously? thats hilarious!

In Medevil times more men died from wounds got from the battle then battle itself.

If it gets badly infected, as his wound seems to have done, then it can be fatal very quickly. I'd also imagine the wound being fairly close to the heart would speed up how quickly the infection will kill.

also the lack of blackfish

erh slightly offtopic but do you have any idea what the lack of antibiotics or developed medicine can do combined with filthy blades and open wounds. read up a bit on medieval warfare, for instance broken bones were nothing, but any open wound was VERY bad news. therefore most armor being constructed to prevent slashing blows, not crushing.
also lol at "I've seen people - both in films and real life - suffering from much, much bigger wounds and they still live". epic.
