just in case i'm right, i swear i didn't read the book so don't count that as spoiler. Just a random guess as this is truly the only way out I can see for Ned...

maybe with some peace treaty. I mean they release the imp (they don't know what he's free yet, or??) and stark can continue reigning the snow.

The Littlefinger scene with Ros and the other whore was soo f'ing stupid (and yeah, I got that he wasn't just teaching the girls how to deal with a client). I don't mind tits or sex, but I'd rather have more of the book plot in. We're not in the 1980s anymore, tits are not needed to bring in the 18-49 male demos. We have the internet, which is filled with tits.
I wonder if all the people who loved that scene would have liked it if the Loras and Renly scene, a few eps past, had featured Loras franticly jacking Renly off while saying: "You could be king!", instead of the off screen slurping sounds.
The forshadowing being done in the LF/Ros/Whore scene was also woefully bad. I doubt that the few non readers who managed to listen to what he's actually saying instead of being distracted by the tits, were surprised when he drew his dagger on Ned at the end. Why not have him draw the dagger, in this ep, then have him explain his actions in ep 8 or something. Would make for better TV.
Actually, cutting the entire Ros character would make for better TV.
Other than that, it was a great episode. Looking forward to the next one, which will be written by GRRM himself!

started off a bit slow and was skeptical at first as someone who's never read the novel.... but each episode just keeps getting better and better. Ep 6 & 7 are both amazing and now I'm dying to see what happens next I'm so mad I didn't just wait until all the episodes were out to start watching... I hate waiting weeks in between =(
show is just so good though.. I'm probably gonna have to get the book now just because I'm sooo impatient..

Episode 7, you so good! How can a show keep getting better and better each episode? Wondering how long it'll last!
|
At least another season, it was renewed because of popularity.

Hunting is a manly hobby, or something like that. He didn't have to skin it himself, he just liked to do it.

Baratheons sigil is a stag. For me, Tywin was skinning the Baratheons.

Butchering is a job for the common people but hunting used to be a very elite activity reserved only for the noble. Hunting for sport that is, even common people tended to hunt if the need arised for it.
Gutting it yourself would probably have been a part of it for some nobles.
In this case it was for two reasons:
1) It shows he isn't afraid to literally get his hands dirty. He's the kinda guy that gets things done.
2) It was symbolic because a stag is the symbol of house baratheon.

I wonder why Catelyn in the book is rather pushing Eddard to take the position as the king's hand but in the series she opposes it so strongly.
edit: I also didnt realize how strongly she dislikes Jon before reading the book.

In the book she first opposes it strongly and then pushes Eddard to do it. When Bran gets thrown from the tower, she wants Ned to go so he can get justice.

Littlefinger scene with the whores was the best part of the double episode release. Everything else seemed weak.
And if Loras was jerking Renly off, telling him "You could be king!", while Littlefinger or Tyrion were in the room, then yes I'd love it. Those two keep the show alive for me. Most of the other actors are turning me off, and not sexually.

Like some guys above said, the stag is the sigil of house Baratheon, king Robert's house. The lion is devouring the stag

Edit: sorry, I started discussing the books (in a non-spoilerish way). We are not supposed to do that.

That makes sense from the writers point of view, but not from Tywin's. It's not like he believes in vodoo. However it is not too far of a stretch to say that skinning the stag was part of the hobby of hunting it.

Yet we don't know if the messenger made it out of King's Landing alive. Looks like all the Stark guards were being butchered.

For some reason, I want to see a Navy Seals squad being somehow sucked up and magically transferred to this world. That should stir things up.

Just kidding, I just wanted to put this tag on the show to confuse people Just game to say, I love that people love the series. Here to hope it'll be soon in my country.
*edit at post below*
No book spoilers? Allright, I'll remove the spoiler tags then. Sometimes I forget I suck at humor. Sorry.
