how the hell is a little gay boy like (this) ser loras supposed to beat anyone... I think the point is you can't judge someone based on their sexual preference. Though maybe the 4-5 seconds of nothing but suckling was a little too much lol. I don't judge anyone. but some boyman with no muscles at all. please... that dude wouldn't even be able to hold a lance

Gay scene was so epic hot. It was like a great big potpourried fart in the faces of all those hurly burly knightly fanboys.

fucking awesome episode! my only complaint is that the queen is being portrayed wrong, too compassionate and caring for my tastes. Maybe theyll fix this later..anyway i am really impressed with how a lot of things were handled, specially the end where they made jaimes guy stab ned instead of a falling horse. then jaime punches him in the face..totally something jaime would do lol

The show is simply reaffirming my favorite characters from the books, and who I was glad to see die fairly heavy spoilers: + Show Spoiler + The only one I'll be sad when they die will be Ned Catelyn is as annoying in the show as she is in the books.
Favorites are still: Arya Petyr Jaime Tyrion
and dany, but only after she starts pulling shit like the eunuch slave warrior army deal.
I'm sad the red wedding isn't until next season, that scene I had to read 3+ times to let it sink in, still one of the most shocking surprising scenes I've ever read.

+ Show Spoiler [book3] +The red wedding is at the end of the 3rd book.

but ser loras actually sucking his .... Eww I shivered quite a lot, while watching the scene, and as people above me mentioned, I also didn't remember any hints of Renly being gay, but it all kinda makes sense now, when I think about it, but that doesn't mean I'm any less grossed about it. I had to fast forward, sue me. I think it's something I kind of had a vague thought of in the book but never paid any heed to, come to think of it I do have vague memories of there being hints of it. I kind of ended up having an image of Renly a confident, charismatic young general who didn't give two shits about anything. That's the impression I got anyhow. Suppose it isn't necessarily changed, this just showed his.. private side.

did they really make renly and ser loras gay?!?!? as far as i understood it there was no sign of homo shit in the books... what'S this all about?!
What the fuck is with all the homophobia. Just because someone is a homosexual doesn't mean he/she can't fight. I'm honestly shocked by all of the remarks I'm reading, as they don't feel like TL quality posts. ;s
Episode 5 was seriously INSANE. I was so upset when Ned's lead guard (I forget his name, I think it's like Jerryn or something) was killed by Jaime. I can't wait to see the ramifications of all this!
One last thing, after that breast-feeding toy doll thread popped up on teamliquid I was sort of confused how so many people found it so appalling, I definitely agree it probably should be a marketed toy, but still. Then, reading this thread, how are people more in arms about the breast feeding scene then the ones with Kal Droggo pretty much raping the female Targaryeon?

I rmeember reading about his preferences online and having to go back to the books - the hints are there, but you have to look for them. Martin handled it a lot more subtly than the TV series has - not that I have a huge problem with that. So far they have the characters of pretty much everyone down.
As for Cersei (DON'T READ UNLESS YOU READ THE FIRST BOOK ALREADY), + Show Spoiler +I think she has been handled perfectly. If you've read the books, remember that she is going to have Robert killed soon. With that in mind the whole conversation with him in that episode wasn't compassion, it was goodbye. She was angling for a reason not to kill him (was there ever a time you could love me?). She is supposed to have to wield her power covertly, a dagger in a silk sheath. Character is perfect for me.
EDIT: because I don't want to spoil things for anyone else, and because putting spoilers in a spoiler tag isn't enough to indicate it's a spoiler, as it says on every page.

DUDE, FOLLOW THE RULES PLEASE. You're post just spoiled something huge for me and it wasn't even indicated that it was from the books. Most spoilers without titles have been of the TV series. Please man.

Anyone who thinks Martin was unclear about Renly and Loras' relationship needs to work on their reading comprehension. There may never have been an explicit scene (mainly because neither of them were ever POV characters) but the hinting was quite overt.

Really like this show! But since i haven't read the books its a lot of characters to keep track of, so its like u have to watch some episodes two times. They should maybe not have gone so fast forward?

All book spoilers not yet shown on air MUST be tagged, and any spoilers from after book 1 must be indicated as such + Show Spoiler [clash of kings] +
Spoilers from the TV series aren't even inside spoiler quotes, that's the point of the thread, it's like asking people not to spoil the games in a LR thread. I'm not sure what you expected, but what I got from the warning was that spoilers after the first book needed a tag saying from which book they were.

+ Show Spoiler + Exactly. The best thing about it is knowing that "was there ever a chance for us" (or something) was rhetorical. Lena Headey is just awesome as Cersei.

Regarding Cersei fo those who read the books + Show Spoiler + I like Lena Headey as Cersei for one reason: She thinks Cersei is smart, and in Martin's books, so does Cersei

DUDE! I followed the rules. Sorry for spoiling the plot for you but I have to say, as I was asked by the thread - I put the spoiler in spoilers. You didn't have to read it.
