the rest of the episode more than made up for it however. i especially liked jaime Jaime has really grown on me. The best part of the show imo. At first I was disappointed in how he was almost too masculine, but he handles the subtleties of the character so well. I'm surprised the actor playing Jaime is so unknown, he's one of the better actors on the show and a damn handsome guy (no homo). Who knows, maybe this will be his breakthrough role.
He has mostly appeared in Scandinavian movies before. He is Danish.

I have to say, imagining Dany as only 13 years old kinda ruins the show a little... I think I prefer the shows interpretation of her in that sense... i feel you man, i wanted to do the same, but non of the damn bookstores i ve been to has it :/

In my mind I always bump up the childrens ages. Maybe in this fantasy world their actions make sense but I prefer them 2-4 years older.

I was thinking the same, honestly the entire cast is incredible. The actress who plays Arya, has made Arya one of my favorite characters in the show. Which is not what I expected as I am a huge Jon fan when reading the books. The midget playing Tyrion is amazing as well, fuck vern troyer this guy can actually act!. And Sean Bean as Ned was probably the most fitting actor for the job!

You might want to reread the books then. It isn't even that subtle.

It isn't even that subtle. It is kind of subtle, in that there are no scenes that all out confirm it or reference it besides the offhand remarks of other characters.

I do think it's subtle in the books until you realize it, then all the previous hints suddenly seem obvious. Pretty good example of why GRR Martin is so great.

I just saw the last episode and I really didn't expect them to show the Arreyn boy being breast fed. I really would have thought that would be a bridge to far to show on television (and I also didn't expect the relationship between Renly and Loras being portrait the way it was).
This was imo the best episode up till now. A lot of great scenes and setting in motion and getting clearer glimpses of the interaction of all the storylines imo. Especially the wordplay between Varys and Little finger was very enjoyable.

When the hill tribesmen attack catelyne's people, watch the 2nd man Bronn kills, he throws him on the ground, and when he runs him through they used a death sound from a WC3 human Edit: rewatch the Jaime vs Ned fight as well, at first i thought Jaime was toying with Ned, but upon further watching, it's obvious that Jaime starts overconfident but by the end of the fight (right before that red cloak stabs Ned) he's fighting for real and Ned is keeping up. Jaime was probably impressed with Ned's fighting ability. go Starks!
LOL I thought I was the only one to get that. Sound is of a footie dying r o f l

Especially the wordplay between Varys and Little finger was very enjoyable. It's HBO, you can get away with almost anything - I think - except showing the actual penetration, you know actual "porn quality". For instance, someone was with a whore last night and well lets just say you also saw jr him flailing around afterwards while both of them were choking and grabbing at each other. Again though, it's premium tv, if this was on any other cable service (non premium) we may as well get the opening credits, a few words, commercials then closing credits.

but ser loras actually sucking his .... Eww I shivered quite a lot, while watching the scene, and as people above me mentioned, I also didn't remember any hints of Renly being gay, but it all kinda makes sense now, when I think about it, but that doesn't mean I'm any less grossed about it.

they even made a damn sucking sound^^ seriously... i suppose that scene was kind of meant to shock, but come on!
how the hell is a little gay boy like (this) ser loras supposed to beat anyone...

I think the point is you can't judge someone based on their sexual preference.
Though maybe the 4-5 seconds of nothing but suckling was a little too much lol.

I don't think that the breasfeeding bit was particularly extreme for HBO standards. I mean, in Rome there was a scene where a woman basically breastfed a corpse.
|
As much as perverted I may be, I never even thought of him actually performing a fellatio. The sounds were the same as when he kissed him, he was still going to do it though, obviously.

Why did you even bring his sexuality into that argument? It has nothing to do with his ability to fight.
The actor could clearly hold a lance, and Jon Snow is just as skinny.
