There might be some hidden point with Sam One observation, it seems like more and more ppl watching GoT nowadays, starting to face even different T-shorts with symbols of famous houses (Starks more frequently)

Have you ever realized Luke Skywalker did basically his whole training in the time it took for Solo and the Falcon Crew to go from Hoth to the City Cloud? But Empire would be a weird movie if it stopped for 3 years the time Luke learnt to master the force properly. To get really good at something like martial art takes years and years and years. So as a story teller, well, you have to take shortcuts. FWIW (and i dont care to read further atm) http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/The_Waif "for several days" (dont remember howw long she trained after being blind will have to rewatch the season sometime) Time has become very flexible lately. But if we are to use the known travel time of two weeks between Winterfell and Castle Black as a metric, at least two months has passed between Jon coming back and where we are. There were messages and news traveling between the two castles that mostly came by courier. But eh, fuck it, this is what happens when you move everyone to the far corners of the world and being consistent with the passing of seasons becomes really fucking hard. Especially now that they have moved beyond the “we travel 5 miles, now for a new little story about what is happening here” story telling style.

It's very possible to avoid if you don't go looking for it. It was actually the first spoiler of any kind I've had in 6 seasons. Most people don't go out of their way to check the cast lists of upcoming seasons and episodes. It's fine if they want to check but broadcasting about returning cast members (assumed dead) and their return dates is really dickish. It's very easy to avoid youtube comment sections and the like, the only risk is reading on here but I had faith in the moderation. So many points you could attack the series at but of all things you choose this which just happens in real life. Brown eyed/haired people can have alleles for blond hair and blue eyes. I'm well aware of how genetics works... I was more disappointed someone who hates his son didn't make a comment on it. It felt like a good way for the father to show some discontent for the child as well. I'm also not actually upset... It just amused me after how Joffrey was found out by looking at his family history of hair color

Not just the specific information. People will naturally fill in the blanks on their own when you say a things like “a new important character next week”. Just hide everything and let people decide who much info they want.

The Sam that left Horn Hill for the wall basically felt that he had no right to his family's legacy; that he doesn't have any right or worth to carry on his family. The Sam that's leaving Horn Hill now is finally starting to turn that around and see his own worth (hence why he comes for Gilly). I think taking the sword is supposed to show Sam's development in self confidence, that he's finally starting to see his worth and value.

I think taking the sword is supposed to show Sam's development in self confidence, that he's finally starting to see his worth and value. It is also confidence that he will be able to put the sword to better use than his father will. That what is happening is beyond houses and families. I think we will see a lot more character burying the hatchet or just telling the power structure to fuck off because the wall is coming down. I am still convinced the Wall falls at the end of the season. It is the Chekhov's gun of GoT and that trigger must be pulled. It is the thing that will end a lot of the petty power struggles. As GRRM views magic/dragons as the “weapons of mass destruction” in GoT, the Wall falling is dropping a nuke that ends the current war.
