Wow I just found out the show has caught up to the books and season 6 will be mostly original content from the producers. Hopefully most of the storyline is by grrm, if not I have a bad feeling about this.
Also wouldn't it be weird when the new book comes out and it's vastly different from TV?

They were just princes, Dothraki can have cocky/dickish princes to...
Not all hordes have to have identical brooding leaders like drogo, so much random hate for the episode in this thread :p

A lot of it is valid complaints. I thoroughly enjoyed 90% of that episode, but that doesn't mean can't point out why I think the 10% of it was absolute shit(Looking at you Dorne...). The show is great, but great can still have god awful moments in it. Doesn't mean I want to stop watching entirely, just means that a portion of the show has turned out to be complete and utter garbage compared with the rest of it.

So much to catch up in this thread, but I put 50hours into the show this past month. Great show, the start of season 6 was a bit awkward with the Red Witch especially when she had an earlier shower scene that she removed the necklace.

Which makes it likely that her turning old is not tied to the necklace (assuming for the moment it is not a giant plothole) and instead is a sign of perhaps her failing faith in the Lord of Light (Stannis and Jon being dead despite as she said, seeing Jon fight at Winterfell in a vision).

She could have removed her glamour as part of getting undressed. The two don't need to be directly linked.

I dunno, it didn't feel any more or less forced than stuff in the earlier seasons did. The only bit about the episode which felt kinda dumb was the dorne stuff, but that's par for the course at this point :p
And besides, I'm choosing to believe they've scrapped that plotline, and just killed all the potentially important people there so we don't need any more scenes from dorne until some other main character shows up to kill everyone.

Then Brienne falls off a nearby tree and Podrick is a master swordsman.
Where did you get Podrick is a master swordsman? Did you watch his fight at all? He clearly showed how new he still was to it. He even lost to the soldier on the ground.

I understand you think any character with a name can slash unnamed guards or soldiers left and right without blinking, but that kind of has the Dorne vibe.

I understand you think any character with a name can slash unnamed guards or soldiers left and right without blinking, but that kind of has the Dorne vibe. Ehh, we don't exactly know how well trained that supposed trained soldier is. Medieval soldiers were not normally all that well trained as they weren't often full-time soldiers. Can a small house like the Boltons really afford a large number of full-time soldiers? That tracking party is probably proficient in tracking and at using ranged weaponry like they would in a hunt, not so much with a sword.
However, nobility (even lower nobility) often were trained in sword fighting. Pod had the added advantage of being the squire to a proficient sword fighter and her only companion on the journey. So it's fair to say that she has been training him a bit in their down-time. So really, it was Pod, who has had some good training, against soldiers that were most likely poorly trained with a sword and he still lost eventually.
I would give the fighting ability of Pod a pass as far as continuity with the story. He certainly was no master. The question I would have is why none of the mounted men had ranged weaponry like a tracker normally would.

The "non-combat soldier" card gets overplayed here. Everyone thinks that unless it's a main character nobody even knows which end to hold the sword by. That is one of Ramsey's guards, and Pod served a drunk nobody before being forced onto Tyrion. Most of his duties consisting of pouring wine and helping put on armour. Trained with Brienne? They were on the road with a specific objective, they did not have the calories or time to waste on any prolonged training. At most Brienne might have given him is a couple of drills, in the same way a martial artist can show a newbie a couple of submission tricks; does not mean that guy can instantly spar with UFC fighters. Further, the combat was mounted, which requires not just a high amount of skill, but a great deal of strength. Pod is pretty much still a kid. There's no argument as to who of the two fighters was the favourite. For him to just charge in without a helmet or gloves, and Brienne being totally cool with it is compete silliness.
