The way they handled Ramsay's 20 good men for starters... This isn't Starcraft, you can't just send your reapers to cliff jump and the factory / supply depots aren't neatly labeled for you to torch in the middle of the night.
Then they can't seem to decide how to handle the Red God. In Season 2 Mel birthed a shadow baby, Thoros raised Beric from the dead several times, Mel implied she could even control wildfyre! Then in later seasons she's wrong about everything, admits to Queen Selyse that she uses literal smoke and mirrors to get people to believe in her power (despite previously having actual power), she's powerless to manipulate the fires Ramsay's men set.
I guess you can go 50-50 on if burning Shireen did anything (melted the snow, didn't bring Stannis victory), but that and the leeches all seemed to fall flat if we're supposed to believe she has real power. We'll see what they do with her next season. Fan theories already say she's conveniently at Castle Black to magic Jon Snow back to life, but how exactly has the show lead us to believe that's something she can do with all the undermining of her supernatural abilities to this point? Now there's a pretty strong parallel between Mel and Thoros; both are at the lowest point of their faith and completely distraught... then Thoros 'says the words, not because he believed in them, but because it was all he knew' and voila Beric gets resurrected.
In any case, Mel is pretty much 50-50 on magic stuff. You're right in that she admits to Selyse that a lot of her 'magic' is smoke and mirrors, but also she gave birth to a shadow baby which killed Renly and 2/3 of her leaches worked. But then her prophecies are pretty mixed; she correctly guessed that the real war was to the north and found Gendry in the middle of no where, but keeps getting the results of battles wrong. I feel like the point is despite her occasionally impressive acts of magic that you shouldn't take everything she says as gospel - Stannis did, and he's dead now.

It's just a recommendation. No spoils there. As people might know GRRM writes form the point of view of the chars, and there is one Melissandre chapter, so if people want to know how she thinks, they should read that chapter.
It's a simple recommendation, noting more.

Don't mention the books here, period. I doubt there's even a safe way of googling a certain chapter from the book without being spoiled.

The asoiaf wiki has a page that is just a table with chapter names and their page number in a bunch english editions, unless you count the chapter name(that it's just the name/title of the POV character) as a spoiler, that single page has no spoiler.

Not if you simply browse that single page. The rest of wiki, yes.

Jesus HBO security is very lax. AMC does better at hiding spoilers. Major leaks if you haven't already guessed it.
|
Im curious as to what you are worried about being spoiled....there are like two minor storylines that haven't been covered in the show.

This show needs Jon Snow. We already lost Ned Stark :/
|
Jon Snow is actually alive. Another guy was on top of him while he was getting stabbed. He pulls himself under a dumpster, and waits it out until the Night's Watch leave, and then escapes.
|
I can't think of any reason for the poster showing Jon Snow, except if he's alive or will be revived. Then again, Game of Thrones is really really good at building up hope and then dashing it.

Fuck the show. I want to read the next book before the show! :/ :/
