Regarding the Stannis vs Boltons battle: All the mercenaries with horses abandoned Stannis shortly before the battle, and he was left with only foot soldiers. Stannis was then overwhelmed by a huge cavalry force. Were those horsemen all Bolton troops, or was it Stannis' own deserted mercenaries? Roose Bolton said earlier this season that Stannis had the superior army and it would be unwise to meet him in the open instead of a fortified position. So where did all these horses suddenly come from, and what good would they have been in a defending against a siege? On the other hand, if it really was Stannis' deserted cavalry: do the Boltons have so much money that they could outbid Stannis who is backed by the Iron Bank? Could it have been another party, like Littlefinger? If it was Littlefinger, will he use those troops to backstab the Boltons and conquer Winterfell for himself?

We don't really know, but I think it's very likely the cavalry was the deserted sellswords. Of course we don't know how Bolton convinced them. It might just that he made clear to them that their cause is lost, and that staying with Stannis they would freeze or starve to death outside the walls of Winterfell. He might have offered them an easy way out to cut their losses, like amnesty, safe passage back to the sea, and maybe some compensation in exchange for crushing Stannis.

Wasn't Stannis also losing men all over the place on the journey from Castle Black and during the time they set up camp?

They didn't need to outbid Stannis, all they needed was to convince them that Stannis was a lost cause, which he so conveniently confirmed by a public display of madness, and pay them at least something. They are far away from home, food or even means to travel, shouldn't be hard to convince them to win an easy battle. Being slaughtered by your own cavalry though is supposedly quite bitter.
Also, if the snow beneath Winterfell walls is deep enough for Sansa to live, how the fuck is cavalry supposed to even get out of the castle?

well bjornsson is credited in this episode, so maybe it was him. I've watched it again, and it still looks like cgi to me, in particular the part where he lifts cersei
|
Why would they need cgi for that? An average man could lift Cersei, certainly the strongman with the unspeakable name can do it with ease. And even if they used a different actor, giving him a helm, makeup and vow of silence would be just as effective and a lot cheaper than cgi.

I'm not saying it's impossible to lift cersei, juste that i'm pretty sure they at least used cgi to make him bigger

No CGI needed for that imo.

![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/ZlC9qvz.png) Boots, Helmet, naked hunched Lena Headley. Looks about the right size for (Thor/2) Bearson.
He also looks to be about 30-40 cms taller than Qyburn when standing side by side. That's pretty accurate with ½Thor being 2.1m and Qyburn being human size.

Rofl people think that is cgi??? It's a big dude with makeup lifting up lena... why would cgi budget be wasted on that?
